First: find the two KEYS - "Print Screen" and "Alt" on your keyboards

Second: click your mouse onto the screen where the barcode is currently displayed (IE browser) to have that window "active"

Third: hold down "Alt" key, then hit "Print Screen" key.

Forth: Hit "Ctrl" and "V" to paste the Barcode inside your Word Doc.

Fifth: Use "DRAWING" tool bar to resize your "print-screen" image in the word doc. Crop the bar code to fit your desire.

Hope I didn't lose you... Still, not sure why you need to copy the barcode onto Word doc in the first place.

BurningInAgony -- How did you get the barcode to work for you? I cannot for the life of me to get it working, I continually get the "x" where the barcode should display.

Thanks for advise, fellow VJ's. Althogh that advise was not useful but I appriciate the help.

This is how I got barcode working:

1. I followed Jame's direction and it worked perfectly.

2. As far as getting x I can say that might be a problem with Java console that process barcode. You can try different computer or in the internet explore under tools click resore to original.

Now when I got my barcode it was on a separate window. I clicked save file as.. and saved it on desktop.

I now have a bitmap image, right click the file on desktop and choose open with: and then choose Microsoft Office picture manager (only If you have it installed on computer). When the file opens up you can cut and paste into the I-864 bill, then with pic edit function crop the barcode so the bottom writing that says:"powered by ..." is out.

It worked and I sent it today, I also had an envelope from my sister's case because she is going with DCF for her husband.

I-130 process:

02/28/06 I130 sent to VSC

03/10/06 NOA 1

06/12/06 Touch (address change)

09/12/06 NOA 2

I-129f Process:

07/23/06 I-129f sent to Chicago

07/31/06 NOA-1

08/16/06 Touch

Another way to do the barcode:

Download this FREE barcode font (TrueType): http://www.barcodesinc.com/free-barcode-font/

Install into your Windows "Fonts" folder. That is, just copy the files to the "Fonts" folder. Sorry... I don't know the install steps for a Macintosh.

Use the font in your favorite text editor.

When you create a "3 of 9" barcode (as is needed here), BE SURE to start and end with "*". For example, if you're creating a barcode for 1234567890, you would make the barcode for:

*1234567890*

The "*" is necessary at the start and end for readers to decode the barcode. No "check digit" is needed, but a little white space is needed before and after so the reader can prepare for the code.

I used Microsoft Word, typed "*XXX1234567890*" (without the quotes, of course), repeated this on the next line, and then changed the font on the first line to the barcode font. Then you can adjust font size as needed. I think 24- or 28-point worked well for the barcode, and 14-point for the text below.

[Disclaimer: I'm not associated with the barcode company. I found them with an internet search, and was pleased that the font is FREE!]

2005-08-10: Met Natalia and fell in love. Too bad she didn't.

2006-01-13: Married. Biggest mistake of my life.

2006-03-07: Began the I-130/I-129F process.

2006-11-01: POE - JFK / Home in Austin!

2006-11-15: She hits me and continues pattern of abuse.

2006-11-16: I filed for divorce.

2006-11-17: Wife is served divorce papers; she and daughter return to Russia.

2007-12-08: She returns to Russia "for the holidays" (lied to lawyers and court).

[many more ups and downs during this time period - mostly downs]

2008-03-26: File for bankruptcy.

2008-07-30: Bankruptcy finalized.

2008-08-27: Divorce final. Started piecing my life back together.

I just found another font that works even better! It automatically prints the letter/number underneath the barcode. Cool!

Download this FREE barcode font (TrueType): http://www.download.com/3000-20-10067143.html

Follow the same steps as in the previous post.
