Will there be any delay if we send in Certified copies (marriage cert., birth cert., etc) with DS230? Or is it recommended to send the originals?

I sent all certified copies. it would be a terrible situation if you sent the originals and then they lost them. just bring the originals to the interview.

We have sent in our original marriage,birth certificate ( and also copies) with DS230.

All the original were given back to us at the time of interview.

The answer to this question is contained within the instructions for each and every form we must file. It states:

"Copies: Unless specifically required that an original document be filed with an application or petition, an ordinary legible photocopy may be submitted. Original documents submitted when not required will remain a part of the record, even if the submission was not required."

So an ordinary photocopy is good enough. However, they may request to see the original and make a copy of it, so take the originals to the interview. NEVER let them keep an original as it is one of a kind and cannot be replaced.

The OP was asking about sending documents to the NVC; your post is in regards to sending documents to USCIS and therefore not germane to the OP's question (also incorrect as original documents are specifically required by the NVC).
