The person has managed to apply for a passport.

She has contacted the Karachi Consulate about refugee status and was told to have the private sponsor e mail them a statement saying they would sponsor. This was done the following day. Before the e mail was sent a call was received by the Consulate and was told they changed their mind. She spoke to local desk help and not an American. She has also contacted or at least tried to contact the UN High Commission on Refugees in Islamabad and has had no luck with getting the phone answered. E mails were sent there as well as to Geneva and no contact.

The sponsor e mail was sent by that time.

Now she wants to apply for a tourist visa.

Here are my questions:

1) What are the chances of a young adult female getting a tourist visa from Pakistan to the USA?

2) Can the person that wrote the sponsor letter also write the letter of invite?

3) If 2 is true than the concern would be what if the young lady while here attempts to adjust her status to asylum, would the person that wrote the invite letter, since they also wrote the sponsor letter be in trouble with immigration. This is the LAST thing that is wanted.

Any guidance would be great since I have tried to help and now find myself in way over my head and cannot get straight answers from USCIS, Immigration, DOJ and all the other alphabet soup agencies.

1) What are the chances of a young adult female getting a tourist visa from Pakistan to the USA?

Pretty low. (see 3 below)

2) Can the person that wrote the sponsor letter also write the letter of invite?

Sure can.

3) If 2 is true than the concern would be what if the young lady while here attempts to adjust her status to asylum, would the person that wrote the invite letter, since they also wrote the sponsor letter be in trouble with immigration. This is the LAST thing that is wanted.

No trouble. If it was an honest attempt for asylum, there would be no issues.

However, since she attempted to use asylum, and was denied, then they will probably not grant the visitors visa, since it may appear to be an attempt to immigrate, not visit.

Any guidance would be great since I have tried to help and now find myself in way over my head and cannot get straight answers from USCIS, Immigration, DOJ and all the other alphabet soup agencies.

(moved from AOS to Visitors visa - more inline with the post)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Virtually no chance, especially since, according to her actions, she has zero intention of abiding by the terms of said visa. One should not encourage people to use tourist visas to circumvent other immigration processes.

Why does she want to visit the US?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
