CSC approves the petition and sends it to the NVC. NVC normally starts processing it approximately one year before they think that the priority date might be current. Once you have completed NVC processing, your file waits for your priority date to become current.

Yes, it will take over two years to get a visa; CSC approves the I130 then sends to NVC and it waits there until further processing.

Am sure you will be getting aprroval soon.

Goodluck

Thanks ! at least something to look forward to :)

We finally got our NOA2 email and txt yesterday (4/14/2012) which is a saturday! I was SOOO shocked...

Its been a rough week for me as i just came back from seeing my wife in Pakistan last saturday and promptly got bitterly sick here.

This was the BEST way to end this week - some movement on our case.

I instantly txtd my wife (it was past midnight her time) and we enjoyed our progress together on skype...

Good luck to all those that are still waiting for their NOA2.

Now on to the waiting that is the next step i guess?

Someone mentioned a year long wait before NVC process?

I plan to file for my naturalization at 5yrs-90days which should be Dec 1st 2012... so hopefully we will get upgraded before then?

NOA1 August 3 2011
NOA2 April 14 2012
NVC receipt May 17 2012

Case upgrade request sent via email April 3 2013

Case upgraded by NVC from F2A to CR1 April 19 2013

Interview June 6th 2013 - APPROVED - case upgraded to IR1 at time of interview based on time married

Visa in hand June 10th 2013

IV fee paid using ELIS June 17th 2013

POE Houston July 15th 2013

GC arrived in mail Aug 12th 2013

SSN card arrived in mail Aug 19 2013 (1 week after applying)

Congratulations! I would think that the NVC would start processing your case before the end of the year - your case would qualify for processing one year before they expect your priority date to become current.

My husband will be eligible to apply for citizenship at the end of November, so it looks like we'll have a similar timeline in the naturalization process too.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

If any of you gets the US citizenship just file a new application and she will be here in 6 months. explore your options.

downside: you will have to pay for the other form which the citizens submit, but if it saves time and instead of 12-18 months you only have to wait 6 months, it worths every single penny...

You are wrong sir. If the petitioner became US Citizen, all he/she needs to send US CITIZEN CERTIFICATION to the service center and request them to upgrade the case file as IR1/CR1.

No need to file separate I130..

Have a happy...

We put in our first service request today since VSC is suddenly showing a processing date of 4 September 2011. I am probably getting my hopes up for nothing, but maybe there's a small change that the service request would lead to an approval over the next few weeks.

I hope everyone is doing well - my husband is visiting me this week so I'm happy :)

Got an RFE (text, email). Pretty sure it is about bonafides :(

Oh no, I am sorry to hear that. What documents are they asking for?

Take it positively, at least you know now that they are looking at your petition!
