Should I go to my fiances interview ?

Hi Everyone ! I am really really struggling with this decision. During the whole K1 process I have been planning to go to Romania to be with my man at his interview. Well 3 months ago we went on a vacation to Puerto Vallarta and am excited to say I am 3 months pregnant with Twins !! I have not been feeling the best, but my doctor says it is my choice to go or not. She said there are no major risks in traveling but I will be far away from home etc. We have lots and lots of proof of our relationship, but i still feel like I need to be there because its such big day. I am just really nervous to fly and dont want anything to happen to our babies. What would you do ?? Thanks everyone :)

I think you should not go there your fiance can go to interview by him self. After approval from embassy he is coming there to be with you so My advise is you should take rest and don't take any risk. Good luck

OP.. I disagree with your doctor. Your vacation got you pregnant and thats OK. Your should be asking for a signed Medical Reason from your Doctor stating it is not in the best Interest of the Unborn Children to travel because your Stress reflects on the Unborn Children and he should have these papers for the Interview. Signed by your doctor. Anyone with a brain will tell you: The Stress is enough without being pregnant and traveling. You will encounter Stress, apitite changes and sleep loss. Not Good for Carrying children. It may or maynot be important you show at the interview but if they ask: You cannot attent in the Best Interest of the Children.

At some consulates, the failure of the U.S. citizen to be on the premises for the interview can be damaging or fatal to the issuance of the visa. Happily, the U.S. embassy in Romania is apparently not one of those. Have your fiance carry a letter from you, or e-mail the consulate yourself, that explains your situation and your intention to attend if circumstances were otherwise.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Congrats to you two,and best of luck.I can't tell you to go or not to go...:) I was in your man's shoes,and wished so bad my fiance could be there with me that day.After all we decided that he doesn't need to come for the interview.Everything went good,didn't get the visa at the first interview,because they wanted more documentation,proving our relationship(not that I didn't have enough)...lol...but anyway,the second interview went even better,they didn't even looked at what I gave them,my visa was already approved.If you guys have all what they ask for,than there is no problem,I believe everything will go well.If you really feel that you need to be there,maybe you need to go.It is your decision.

I went alone at my interview and had no issues at all. I was asked about 6 easy questions and that was it. Most people going through Bucharest go alone and all that i talked to had pretty easy interviews with no problems. It`s not required to be there with your fiance in Romania and i don`t think it makes any difference at all. Good luck and congrats for the pregnancy!
