Hi,

I would advise against hiring a lawyer or anyone to help you, it would be a waste of money, unless you have complicated circumstances. It's not a hard process when you have people to ask and advice you on Visa Journey. Follow the guides on how to prepare your petition and the further steps involved in a K1 visa, or any visa.

Good luck!

Problem is he is currently working in the Middle East... how are we going to receive and who will process for us when he is in the Middle East? any suggestions? this is why he's planning on hiring an immigration lawyer or someone to help us in the U.S. any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The American petitioner is in Middle East? His current address can be changed when he's ready to move back to the US.

How long is he going to stay there?

You can receive your visa between 5-9mos, depending on your timing and documentation.

Once you get your visa, you will be given 6mos to fly out of the Philippines. Then 3mos to get married in the US.

@teapotgurl1983 thank you for the information. Yes he's currently working in the Middle East. So what address should we choose? APO address or the US address? he will be staying there for a year contract, that depends as there can still be changes.

We have the step 1 prepared and need to just submit it, however I dont know what address should we put on the application. I figured, its not really that hard to process the fiance visa ha? or is it? on my end, seems like it is. Most probably because he's not in the US right now.

The process is already mapped out, you, the beneficiary and the petitioner just need to fill out the documents as needed and when needed and get them to USCIS. Documents will be sent via DHL, FEDEx or email, etc. Who is the Us citizen in this case?

If there are background issues that make your case complicated, then a lawyer might be a good idea. But no one can tell you not to hire a lawyer if you are not confident you can complete the process without legal counsel. Thousands have used this site and successfully got the visa they sought.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
