I have filed a K1 Fiance Visa . USCIS requested additional information 2 months ago . I have filled everything myself. I am just wondering if a immigration lawyer has any special privileges at USCIS that perhaps I do not . I can not get any information from USCIS , and I have spoke to 2 different customer representatives and received 2 different answers. I feel really frustrated at this point. Thanks for any feedback .

Unfortunately, lawyers have no privileges...They cannot speed things up and USCIS gives the same information to lawyers or petitioners dealing with the applications themselves. I know it is frustrating but there's nothing to do but wait...

In our case, the lawyer didn't do any better than we did ourselves when we had a question. I don't think they have privileges the rest of us don't.

When we got conflicting information calling NVC, we asked to escalate the call to a Supervisor. You could try that, all we did was repeat that a couple of times to the person we spoke to first.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

A lawyer won't get you any further with USCIS than you could yourself. They will get the same answers from USCIS that you do. They will have the same privileges with USCIS as you do. Save your money and your time and continue dealing with USCIS on your own.

Actually, attorneys and other representatives do have access to higher levels of personnel at the Service Centers than do "regular humans". They also have consular access that we don't have.

But they can't really speed up anyone's process. Any lawyer who tells you they can is lying.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

when you call back, ask for an ISO, a Tier 2 Human, and ask specifically -

what's the holdup on the RFE response being added to the casefile? Does the adjudicator still have the casefile? Can you please request an 'eyeball review' by the assigned adjudicator ?

ISO Info - http://www.dhs.gov/files/publications/gc_1305658440339.shtm

Please note that CSRs are mostly braindead, cannot see what an ISO can see, and ANYONE can ask for an ISO.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
