CSC is still cleaning up the IMBRA mess. If you get married there, you will have to start over by filing a new petition and you will lose more time. They are working on March (we got our approval after 168 days earlier this month) and yours should be any day. If you have not contacted a congressman or state senator, it wouldn't hurt to do so and ask them to make an official inquiry into your case status. Hang in there and good luck.

I obviously have not waited anywhere near as long as you two have, but I really do understand how you are feeling. It actually does seem to be getting better at CSC and many who are now receiving approvals are not getting any touches at all. Hang on a bit longer and you will likely be rewarded. Older cases are being cleared out and fresher cases being approved with what for CSC passes for lightening speed!

I think it would be a huge mistake for you to go to her country and get married at this point unless you plan to live out your lives there. You would need to trash your K-1 application and file for K-3 and those take even longer to get approved. If you can wait out the approval process while staying with her, that would probably make the wait more tolerable, and go for it if you can!

Definately sucks that there appears to be no rhyme or reason for the way in which cases are processed but you have waited so long it would be a shame to give up now.

I agree it would be a bad thing to give up now when we have come soo far. I have NO intentions of doing that. I am just looking for solutions, and no matter what I have tried nothing sems to work. I have been keeping up with the working of the immigration problems and its inner workings, and its very disheartening, there is soo much corruption and laxness, that its really frightening. The reprocussions are all that are honest and trying to do things correctly are the ones that are having to pay the price for such circumstances

The legal fiance immigration system does seem to run counter to the self evident truths our government is founded upon... Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I can understand security checks, especially in this day and age, but that does not seem to be the reason for horrendous delays and unfairness in processing, so no excuse there.

I would guess that kitkat is dead on correct, your approval is coming shortly. Very sorry about how long it has taken, and it would be nice if CSC did a much better job explaining and communicating actual case status during the process. Not knowing is probably just as bad as the actual wait.

In our case, there was a very minor problem with our NOA1 address line, I called in to correct it, and our case has not shown that touch in over a month... Starting to worry a bit about that, the guy I talked to seemed pretty confused and instead of taking note to add th after the 7 in my street address we seemed to run through all of my personal data and some of my fiances, verbally, so many chances for our case to be mangled and I have no idea if that has occurred...

Hang in there though, you have been put through hell, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The sad part is ITS GETTING WORSE!! NO one in gov seems to be hearing our pleas for HELP!! SO WHAT DO WE DO?

I completely sympathize with your frustrations and anger!! And I have no clue as to why CSC is processing or not-processing petitions in the order that they are ......

That said, I would definitely recommend writing a letter to your Senator asap and asking to his/her office to make an inquiry into your case and either 1) push it along, or 2) get answers.

Best of luck to you, and try to hang in there just a little longer ..... it can't possible be much longer.

6/29 - NEW I-129 mailed to CSC

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

9/21 - NOA2 issued

Been there done that and never received any response at all. I have heard through grapevines that even the inquiries in to immigration are not being done either. This seems to be a very hot topic right now at our borders and no one wants to touch the subject or dont want to rock the boat bec someone in GOV cant make up their minds on a solution.:angry:

I agree that it is VERY unfair.

I suggest raising this issue with all Members of Congress. You have two senators and a congressmen. Contact them, using the data that Gary and others compile, including me. (The moderator seems to move my postings to the USCIS discussion list.)

The only good news is that in September they have cleared half of the March NOA1's that were still waiting. IF they continue processing "old" cases at the same rate (BIG if), then you should get your approval in the next 2-4 weeks.

My fiance and I have had the same discussion that you've had. If we get turned down or get stuck in limbo for years, we'll find another country to live in for the next few years.

I also agree with the prior comment about feedback. When they are processing lots of July people, they should give regular updates to the March-June people who are waiting - what the hold up is, and an estimated action date.

Tom

Thank for for updating your timeline. (My Assistant, then edit/add my timeline.)

I second Tom's suggustion to use the data here to put together a request for your Congressional reps to look into the matter. Be sure to aks for the aide who handles immigration issues. It's the aides that do the work not the reps. One congressional aide is not equal to another congressional aide. Some are more competent than others. Keep calling until you get one who is sympathetic and can address the issue.

Good luck! I know you must feel so frustrated being one of the last of the early pre-IMBRA filers who has not been cleared.
