So we finally have an interview date, the 18th of November, and I was just wondering how long it typically took people to receive the visa after their interview? I heard there is an option to courier it to you, but I'm not sure how this works or how it affects the wait. I live in London so it doesn't have to travel far, but any experiences of processing times, or how long it took from the interview till having it 'in hand' would be most appreciated.

Good luck everyone!

I have read that unless you ask for a speedy method they just send it out regular.

If you didn't check out the links on the left hand column of the London website, then you are missing information they are giving you. This one called Courier Service includes this information:

Nonimmigant and Immigrant visa applicant who attend the Embassy in person for an interview with a consular officer will have their passports returned to them by DX Secure;

there is no other method of delivery available
.

On that same page in the right column is a link to the Courier's website where you can find the full fee schedule for passport delivery. There is no option for faster delivery meaning days earlier. For example, if your passport was scheduled for delivery on Friday, paying the £14.80 standard plus extra £21.50 premium fee, will get it to you by 8 AM on Friday, not Wed. or Thurs.

For what it's worth - I had my interview on a Tuesday morning first thing and they would have delivered on the Friday of the same week had I not been out that day but it's probably safer to wait with making final travel arrangements until you've got the email from the courier saying they've got your passport and will deliver it on such-and-such date.

Good luck with the interview.
