when does noa2 expire

Noa2 has an expiration date for the process. Not for you.

Your petition will go to NVC. You can call them and ask for your case number.

You get your embassy case number and then wait for the embassy to get the case.

You can call DOS to find out if the embassy has it yet.

You can check online at your embassy website to see if you can download the forms early and have them ready.

When the embassy has the case you can send your forms etc. ( if they have been made available online ) If not then you need to wait for the p3 with the forms and instructions you would get.

Basically you have no worry what so ever right now about the NOA2 expiration. The embassy automatically extends the validity of the petition if it is close to expiration.

You should have expressed this issue in your original post as this is VERY important information that you left out.

You need to call and find out if your case is still valid, you also need to find out where your case is or if its been closed because of inactivity.

Your best bet is to call DOS 202-663-1225. As well as send an email to the embassy if you have your embassy case number.

Somebody will probably correct me if I am wrong, but I think NO2 has a 6 month expiration date. Again, I could be wrong

Mine shows 4 months on it and that is only for the petition to get to the USEM. The USEM then extends the petition life automatically.

What do you mean of it? I thought the case would automatically forwarded to embassy after NVC. It sounds like we have to check all the time of our case to make sure they don't forget it and showing that we are pro-active for it. Do I miss some piece of the explanation?

The OP had the NOA2 for 5 months and did nothing with the case. Not even responded to the USEM with packet 3 or a notice to inform them of holding the case.

After getting the NOA2 it does not take long to get to the USEM and send packet 3 to them.
