Hello everyone,

I sent in my husband's AOS package a few weeks back, received oct 7. We received a rejection notice stating that the check amount is incorrect, or has not been provided. I did check the application fees prior according to this website:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/75836-reminder-july-30th-2007-new-filing-fees-in-effect/

I submitted a check to them for $1,010.00. Under I-485 it states $1,010.00 for filing + biometric. Now I've submitted the documents for the employment application and the travel documents. I thought those fees were included in that $930.00 fee for the I-485. I do, however, have a rejection notice stating the fees are incorrect attached to each form: the I-485, I-131 and the I-765.

Maybe I completely misunderstood the payment process but could anyone help me with what I did wrong? Also, his visa expires on the 22nd, tomorrow, is he still legal if we married already but haven't gotten the documents processed?

Thanks so much in advanced.

The amount that needed to be sent was $1070. $985 + $85 fee for biometrics. The USCIS website will always have the most current forms and fee amounts.

That thread is from 2007. Should have jumped to the last page to see why the thread was closed: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/75836-reminder-july-30th-2007-new-filing-fees-in-effect/page__st__45

Also, agree with the poster above, always read the USCIS page and form instructions for current filing fees. Not trying to be snarky. Too many people don't read the form instructions, and they should. All the info they need for filing the correct documents and evidence with the forms, as well as the correct filing fees and mailing addresses are listed there.
