hello guys im new in this website , i have few question i wish somebody been through could help me .

my girlfriend should come to me next month and im from algeria she's american , so

i have no idea , what should i do first , i mean yes getting married , and what's the next step

she gonna stay only 8days is that enough ??

take a date in embassy ?

please if somebody know something jus tell me , thanks all of u

Sorry but you cant file for a K-1 if your getting married.

8 days for what?

Next step for what? Do you mean to go live in the USA with her? If yes, the US citizen will go back to america and you will wait for 1 year while she petitions for you as a spouse.

i mean she gonna stay with me in algeria only 8 days and she will go back to usa , because her work didn't allow her to stay more did those days enough to get married and gone to the embassy ??

thx for helping anyway , but i really did not understand those files lol

If she's an American, and you will be marrying her in Algeria, she is NOT allowed to file K1 visa on your behalf.

She must file K3 visa -- non-immigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen spouse of a United States

Tell her to start reading up on the rules, forms, which can be found on this site or the state department website.

She must file K3 visa -- non-immigrant visa is for the foreign-citizen spouse of a United States

K1 quicker, get engaged, all that stuff, return to USA, apply for k1, you get interview, pay for visa then come to USA in about 7 months. Maybe longer due to the part of the world you live in. READ the guides here to see what type of visa works for you.

To get married after only 8 days of meeting is frowned upon and is considered a red flag. Is this the first time you will meet or has she been there before ? How long have you known each other ?

Be prepared for months or a year of AP time ( Administrative Processing ) if you marry after only a few days of being together. She should make additional visits before filing, at least one more, otherwise it will look like it is for immigration purposes only and not a bona fide relationship.

Take it slower and gather good solid proof of a genuine relationship. Both of you should study the process step by step, which may be time consuming but very necessary to be successful. There is a "guides" tab on top to learn more about a K1 and Cr-1.

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

Marriage : Dec 27, 2014

AOS send : May 12, 2015, received May 14, 2015 USPS priority

Renewal EAD in production notification text and online, expedite successful 4 days after RFE request response was faxed, Aug25mailed,Aug29received.

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.
