The I-485 interview appointment says to bring my birth certificate (I'm the USC).

When I talked with an attorney they told me I just need to have my passport.

What I provided for proof of citizenship was a passport on inital package submission.

Research online suggests that we'll be fine with just the Passport because in interview they want to just verify the documents already provided, and if they needed a birth cert they would have sent an RFE for one already.

Any experience or suggestions from those who know would be helpful.

Thanks

You take whatever they ask you to take to interview. If it is requested then take it.

If they ask you to bring it. Bring it don't play with USCIS, they don't like it

unless you bring cookies - then it is cool...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I have a copy at my mother's house back home.

Will get it FedEx'd for 10:30 delivery - need to leave by 11:40 for appt.

Brother will scan a high-res copy so if the package doesn't make it I can at least show them that.

I think we'll work it out.

I was freaking out because I was going through the same as you. FedEx finally got it to me 1 day prior to the interview.

During the interview it was never asked for... IO stated "naw, don't need to see that, I've already got a copy."

I told him of all the problems I had aquiring this document and now I was going to insist he see it. "Ok", he said.

I showed it to him. we both smiled. I put it away back in the folder.

We were both happy.

I hope they ask to see yours. :)
