Is it okay if my future husband to be will file a k-1, a fiance visa for us??? im from philippines.. we will have our engagement nextyear and will use that photo as evidenced of our relationship and aside from that we are planning to have our nikai? is it not a problem for our k1 filing?nikai is a legal religious families decision that is a traditional marriage in muslim...

?? you will have the engagement next year? thats a little confusing ... the k1 visa is for those that are already engaged to be married and are just waiting on the approval of the visa to come to the country to do the marriage.

all the engagement info should be submitted with the k1 application...

Nikah can only be done after the approval and the arrival of the beneficiary... you can't do nikah before the approval of k1 visa...you have to marry in the states and do nikah in the states if you file k1 visa

sorry if ive misunderstood your post but maybe you can clarify your post a little more?

your post is a little confusing ...

(sounds like you aren't engaged yet by saying your doing the engagement next year)the k1 visa is for those that are already engaged to be married and are just waiting on the approval of the visa to come to the country to do the marriage.

all the engagement info should be submitted with the k1 application...

If you do nikah before getting visa to come here you file a CR1 visa instead of K1

please clarify a bit more ?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

1. You need more evidence of having met in the last two years. You need something like boarding passes, hotel receipts, trip itineraries, etc.

2. I would never submit pictures of nikah. This can be construed as already being married. The K1 visa is for individuals who wish to move to the U.S. and THEN get marries.

3. If you want to get married in your home country, do that. Then file CR-1.
