Processing days for Sydney

Hi all

I had my interview on 27 September. It was approved pending submission of my husband's taxes. We have done the taxes and emailed the 1040 on Wednesday. They acknowledged receipt of the email on Friday (yesterday). I did plan to go to Melbourne on October 20 and spend a few days there before leaving for the states. I am getting anxious my visa wont come in time before I leave for Melbourne (I don't want to come back just to collect it)!

I seem to remember seeing on this site, multiple times, but I cannot remember where now and a search yields nothing, but I remember people talking about what days the Sydney consulate processes its visas. I think it was one day of the week and then on the Friday they are all mailed out, or something like that. Does anyone know?

I did try and call them but was told the immigrant section does not take phone calls. I'd be grateful if anyone can help with this info and hopefully relieve my anxiety. What I am worried about is that thursday or friday is the cut off day for the week and I might miss out by just a day or so. I am in Cairns so even express mail takes around 3 days to arrive.

i've never read anything about it but i would assume that they're processing days are wednesday and thursday if they send them all on friday, just because they do interviews on tuesdays. I hope you hear something soon

i hope it makes it in time , you can email the embassy they usually reply within 1-2 days , that is how i communicated with them. I have my interview on a tuesday and hoping to fly out on the saturday the same week . They say it takes 2-3 days to get your Visa , im living in SYdney so i should get it the same day or one day after they send it. Good luck with it , you emailed it so usually you would get a quicker reply if you mailed it to them.

Do you have any one that could send the visa to you when your in melbourne if it gets there after you leave?

its just a express post envelope platnuim usually anyone can sign for it , as long as someone is home . They just put my express envelopes in the mail box and not evan knock on my door usually

i wouldnt be booking any tickets till you get your visa in hand!! gc955 booked his flights to fly out 3 weeks after he got approved at the interview and he got approved at the interview but now they are stuffing him around and he still doesnt have his visa.. and he had to change his flights! so dont book until you get it...

They usually send out visas Thursdays and as you said they have your tax's yes? So I would say you should receive your visa this week. But if not heard from them by Wednesday email them at the consulate ok. You can't ring Sydney consulate.

is gc955 living in AUS ? or is he from a different country?

all the sydney consulate reveiws i have read people get there visas in time.They ask you at the interveiw when u want to leave to go to the US so they can send it out in time.

i hope your visa comes this week , Our AUstralian consulate is usually very good! not like other countries

Fingers crossed for gc955. Mine took a week to arrive and I was in Brisbane. I've heard that all visas even when approved on the spot goes into some sort of AP. I wouldn't be booking tickets just yet even though I've never heard of anyone in Aus having issues until now.

Well.... still no movement on the aus post tracking site...starting to get anxious as to what the hold up is and whether or not I'll be able to begin my travels on 20th as planned :/

they approved him at the interview.. then he waited a week and no visa so he emailed them and they said they wanted more proof of the relationship even though he had it at the interview with him.. the whole thing took like a month i think for him to get his visa and he only just got it a day or two ago...
