Hello VJ.

First Post....Go easy on me!!

Just to a quick note to say thank you for this amazing website. The advice that's received here is top quality and has helped me perfectly every step of the way.....so far

Im going through my AOS at the moment from K1. I though I had read all the rules,T&C's perfectly over and over and I would avoid an RFE, since every step of the process was moving along quickly and with out any hassle to date.

I recieved an RFE(I-485) on 22 August 2011.It stated..... that they were unable to process my AOS with out additional info. Specifically , a review of the records indicates that you entered the US pursuant to a valid K1 nonimmigrant vis and all USCIS records relating to you have been reviewed, but the US Dept of State medical forms ds-2053,ds-3024,ds-3025 and ds-3026 are not in any of those records. Therefore a new medical form must be filled out by CS and sent to USCIS.You have untill 11 November to respond

As such , the applicant is required to submit a New I-693,Report of Medical Exam and Vaccination Record, that is properly completed and signed.

Now, when I submitted my I-485 I had a copy of my DS-3025 that was givin to me by the doctor who conducted the medical before I had my Interview at the embassy in Dublin. It states at the bottom.(Ticked) "Vaccine history complete, all requirements for one or more vaccines and no waiver required.."

So basically im asking ...DO I REQUIRE A NEW MEDICAL??? Or if I can is a case of finding a CS who can "transcribe" all this....So frustrating, confusing and contradicting of there rules and regs :crying::help:

Thanks to all those who respond....

Sounds like your entire medical is missing. They are RFEing for it so you can do 2 things. Either get the medical done and send it asap or try and fight it and wait and see if you really do need to have the medical.

hi,

dont panic ive been through to this situation as you can see my timeline, first off if your medical overseas is less than a year prior to you filing AOS u dont have to redo all the medical exam, however your vaccination if its not complete when u enter us THEN you need to find a civil surgeon to complete your vaccination chart, they are very strict to that,so U need to go to uscis website and find a civil surgeon the only DOCTOR THAT accredited by USCIS no other than that, call for prices and some cs will charge u more than regular price,aGain they might insist that you need to redo the medical explain to them that you dont have too and the medical overseas is valid for 1 YEARS,that is why u need to apply FOR aos whilst your medical is stil valid so u dont have to spend more money to repeat it.,

ANYWAYS,i advice you to go to uscis and print out the forms1-693 including the INTRUCTION.as i learned my lessoned when i go to foothill they dont even know about what the heck is this form 1-693 so i have to supply to them, the part one you need to answer, part 2(only the vaccination chart)okay?then part 5 only the doctor signature, dated and certification OKAY???you need to bring your medical from overseas so they can understand what u need....

GOOD LUCK BUDDY

CALM DOWN AND JUST follow what they asked you to submit everything will okie dokie,

Thats what im thinking(or its in POE@Dublin)....When I got the RFE i rang straight away....I got escalated to Tier2 and the where not much more helpful. They did however say that if you wish you can have it all escalated(Have all of my files pulled) again which would take about two weeks and they would reply to me.I got a reply via email and here's what it said..

"You have received a request for additional evidence regarding your pending I-485 application. According to the instructions for the I-485 you may be required to submit a medical examination report on Form I-693, Report of Medical Examinations and Vaccination Record. (Page 4)

It has been determined the medical examination you submitted at the time you entered the United States with a K-1 visa does not meet the criteria required for the I-485 medical examination.

Failure to respond to the request for additional evidence may result in the denial of your I-485 application.

What do you/anyone make of that??

They are requesting the OP submit a NEW MEDICAL and vaccination sheet not just the vaccination sheet. So no only sending part of it wont fix the issue.

Ok...well my ds-3025 is ticked complete!!

I have a found a doctor who is going to transcibe for $100...

Medical report from overseas just says....My details and doctor who carried out procedure.(carried out 21/march/2011

Blood pressure: (blank)

Patholgy: Syphilis Negative

X-ray: The heart is not enlarged. The lung field is clear.

Copy of the X-Ray

DS-3025

Vaccination passport for all the shots ive had over the years!!

I-693 is printed

my opinion would be to just get a civil surgeon to redo the medical, that way you have a full one to send them and stops them denying you, because it sounds like they lost the old medical so the ds 3025 by itself is useless

Thanks Chris,

Im going to a CS today to get everything that I have transcribed...but if he starts telling me i need the full medical im just gonna walk away and then start the fight with USCIS..Round 3!!

How can these IMPORTANT DOCS go missing!! Also I think that there not missing and there sitting in a big pile at Dublin Airport as this is where you clear immigration(POE) and id say they just dont bother sending them to relevant processing centres...

Posted

They lost your medical. They need new results from a new full medical, and NOT merely a transcription. It does suck, I agree, but if you just send in a transcription then your AOS might be denied. They do lose the medicals from time to time... an imperfect system. You should be able to get a full medical for only a bit more than that outrageous $100 quote for a mere transcription.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Oh, $385 is way too much. We paid $200 and I have seen other people get it for as low as $130. If you are in NJ and can travel to NYC, I can recommend the doc my husband went to for $200, or you can search for the other recommended $150 CS's in NYC. It's be worth the money to travel, I would think. If you want the name of the place PM me.

Thanks you so much Harpa!

I went to a CS this morning and they were able from to decipher from the RFE letter that is seems there are no records of my medical....which im slowly starting to accept.

They said that id have to get the physical($100),MMR($110part2,Had Pt1 at my medical in Dublin) and veracilla jab($100,even though I had chickenpox as a child). Total $320.

They said they didnt have to do bloods because from the medical report from my doc in Ireland had Syph and HIV negative and that the Xray I had(for souvenir)was good for the TB...They rescheduled me for 10/21 and said they'd be able to give me the complete report and I-693 complete on the day as I leave!!

Also your offer of a PM would be great.....just im running out of time and have already run out of money :(
