tdgrenier, the question what do you give up to become a citizen is not in the catalogue. What is the right answer to that one? I don't see that I give up anything but gain rights (voting and such).

I found that interesting too. Bur perhaps he was referring to this question.

What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?

. give up loyalty to other countries

. defend the Constitution and laws of the United States

. obey the laws of the United States

. serve in the U.S. military (if needed)

. serve (do important work for) the nation (if needed)

. be loyal to the United States

okay, wow... Wishful thinking I guess.... I think we are exempt from biometrics. I just received notification that I am in line for interview scheduling.

So happy about the interview date. Why the set back?

Received IL. Interview is at 7:40am on Feb. 23rd.

Due to an unexpected setback, I no longer see a smooth journey towards my citizenship. Hence, I am subdued and my enthusiasm curbed.

Its good to see fellow filers being approved and all my best to others whose interview dates are coming up. Good luck my friends.

10/12/11: Sent N-400 to Dallas lockbox via USPS certified mail

10/18/11: Delivery confirmed

10/21/11: Check cashed

10/25/11: Got NOA by mail. Priority date 10/18

10/28/11: FP notice received by mail

11/18/11: FP done per schedule

01/03/12: Yellow letter received (dated 12/12/11)

01/06/12: Status changed to Testing and Interview (inline for scheduling)

01/18/12: Status changed to Interview Scheduled

01/21/12: IL Received

02/23/12: Interview: approved. Oath: completed

Phew, what a journey! I am a US Citizen.

02/27/12: Applied for U.S. Passport & Passport card

My naturalization interview is over! It was great. Easy. Fast.

Got to the USCIS office 10 mins before my appointment. Waited in the car for 5 mins. Went in the waiting room with my wife and chilled for about 10 mins. When my name was called my wife shouted, “may the force be with you”…. Everyone laughed, including the interviewing officer. It was sweet because I am a nerd and love that movie (the original, not the “updated” versions).

Anyway, I went in and he asked if the “the force be with you” lady was my wife. I said yes. The entire interview lasted 5 mins. I think he only asked me four civics questions. He didn’t ask for any extra documents (just the regular green card, ID and passport). Done!

Told me oath should be mid February.

foreverido - Congrats! :dance: We did not have your interview in the list, so I guess it was today, let me know if that is correct or not. Tell us when you get your oath date. Congrats again!
