rch99- Thank you so much for that! It saved me alot of grief looking for it. So even if my husband cannot find the shot and medical exam he had done in Moscow, Russia, we should get this done and include in the AOS file- right?

I just printed out the 693 appendix, which i had never seen before. Its the same as the DS form that I resubmitted with the RFE, so I feel better now.

But my question is, why is everyone paying so much to redo medical exams? Civil Surgeons don't accept medical insurance? This sounds more like an official scam than a necessary procedure if this is the case. Especially since we are all doing this because we are married, one spouse is a US ctizen. I think is quite foreseeable that the USC has a job with medical insurance that covers his/her wife. Why can we take it to the doctor that is already taking care of us and knows about our medical history?

medical insurance does not pay for immigration medical exams, and the exams MUST be done by a government approved "civil surgeon", they cannot be done by just any family doctor. Prices for the exams will vary by which part of the country you're in, and what exactly you need done.

Then I guess our case is some sort of an exception, since our medical ins. company (Blue Shield CA) covered the medical exam we had to get as a result of RFE. The exam was definitely performed by an approved civil surgeon and it initially cost us $133. We provided them with our med ins. card, not even hoping that it would work. But after about 1 week, we received a check in the mail from the clinic -- a $92 refund! :D So eventually, we only had to pay $41 for the whole medical exam.

Seems we were lucky, huh?

That is the supplemental that you must go to a civil surgeon to get. Make sure you call around, the pricing can very by a huge amount! http://uscis.gov/graphics/exec/cs/Index.asp

yes that is true, I called the one Marissa and I went to and they just said $100 for the vacations. I also called other one and they said $245 and that is a full medical. I explained to the person on the phone she just needs her supplemental form, but I guess she over dosed that day on Stuipd pills. She said she needs the full exam. I am not as dumb as I look so I said thanks but I disagree with you and hung up. It even said in the instructions about a K-1 medical. If you had it within a year, you just need to submit your vacanation form.

Peace

Well, we just came back from our interview. The first thing the interviewer said was that the medical wasn't in the file. She said she sees this a lot, that for some reason it doesn't make it from the airport into the file. I told her we had a form filled out, but it was done by our regular doctor. She said it would be fine even though it wasn't in a sealed envelope. And that was the end of that.

Now I wouldn't recommend that, but we did it as a back-up even though its not required to do it again for K-1s and it turned out we needed it. Ning was already under the care of this doctor and he had no problem in filling it in for us.
