Hello,

My wife is a citizen and we are preparing for my immigration petition. We are going to fill following forms:

I-130

I-485

I-765

I-693

I-864

I-131

As far as I know I can file all of the above forms together. I recently talked to someone and he told me I have to wait for the USCIS letter to file form I-693 (Medical Exam). Once I get the letter I have to send I-693. I searched little bit and came to know that I have to file I-693 along with I-485. Now I am confused which one is true? Should I wait for USCIS letter or just go ahead and File I-693 along with I-485?

Same thing for I-864. I was told that I will get a letter from USCIS to send I-864. But upon some research it seems that I can send it along with I-485. My wife would be able to sponsor me after Jan 2011(She has a offer letter and her job starts from Jan 2011). Can I submit I-864 after that?

Thanks

06/03/2011 - got married in Kew Gardens NY court (me, her and her Uncle-Aunt)

10/24/2011 - Mailed out via Next Day USPS

10/25/2011 - Delivered

10/28/2011 - Emails received and can view case status online

10/31/2011 - Checks cashed, and last updated date online

10/31/2011 - Hard copy NOA1 received

11/04/2011 - Biometric notification received for 11/25

11/07/2011 - Walk in Bio completed

11/10/2011 - got RFE for I-485 (specific to I-864, they got confused because I sponsored myself while working and studying on CPT)

11/18/2011 - InfoPass appointment to make sure CPT stuff for RFE is alright (in RFE is said "I was working illegally", scared me to death)

11/30/2011 - Sent RFE response to USCIS (sent explanation about how CPT works and also sent additional I-864 of a GC friend)

12/02/2011 - got email saying RFE response received by USCIS

12/19/2011 - got email saying Interview Notice for 01/20/2012 sent

12/20/2011 - Interview notice for 01/20

You have to get the medical done BEFORE sending in the AOS paperwork. You find a civil surgeon in your area (there is a list of them on USCIS website), make an appointment and get the check and paperwork out of the way. If you send the package without the medical paperwork, you'll just get an RFE which will delay your entire case.

Same with the affidavit of support - you need to file it WITH the forms. Don't send anything out until you have all the forms completed - including medical and affidavit of support.

I am thinking of having an LPR friend as a joint sponsor along with my wife(she doesn't work right now). Do you know what documents will I need from my friend as a joint sponsor?
