IRS transcript or tax return

hello, one more question concerning my K1-interview:

my fiance does have his IRS-transcripts.

because he did his taxes online he does not have his tax returns Form 1040.

now my question is: do we need the IRS transcript and the tax returns or just one of the two? if we have the IRS transcript, do we still need the tax return form 1040 for the interview?

The transcript has been acceptable, and sometimes preferred.

You should not need the W2 form. The transcript without the W2 will work just fine.

That's how I read the instructions.

If a person has income from employment (other than self-employment) a tax return is not complete without a W-2.

From the I864 instructions:

"If you provide a photocopy of your tax return(s), you must include a copy of each and every Form-W2 and Form 1099 that relate to your returns. Do not include copies of these Forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your return(s) rather than a photocopy."
