So, my fiancee had her interview last Wednesday and everything went well. The CO said "ok its all good. Do you need your passport for any immediate travel? Next step is your visa processing and we will let you know when its ready" And the passport was kept by the embassy. The document collector person said "It will be in about a week. We will notify you by email or by phone."

Nothing unusual, no blue or white slip, no 221(g) or no adverse reaction by the CO or the document collector. And I know its not a week yet and so I should give it some more time. But today I called DOS and was told "Embassy is still processing" and my dumbhead did not ask if it just processing or Administrative Processing.

Any inputs? Is it too early to freak out or should I be freaking out?! Should I wait till Wednesday (a week from the interview) to email them?

Yes, sounds like everything is OK, so wait.

Your right, you never know. You could have done EVERYTHING correct and still have red flags pop up everywhere, its just up in the air. One of the things this site has taught me is patience is EVERYTHING =)

I have been trying to convince myself the same thing as well but you never know....!

Hi..

Just want to share my story here.. i did my interview last aug.9.. everything went well.. Like you, no paper or forms was given to me after the interview.. at the resuLting window..the lady kept my passport and just told me to wait for my visa and passport to arrive. Its more than a month now, we tried to call the USE almost every other day.. and they just gave me the same answer "its still on the process".. Im so worried about this thats why I went back to USE manila to personally check the status of my visa.. The lady at window 38 just gave me the same answer.. its still on the process and all i need to do is to wait.. It maybe for two more weeks she said.. I ask her what process specifically my application are goin into..coz im afraid it'll be under Admin. Process.. and she said yes, its under AP :( We're getting frustrated already.. The question is.. why the CO did not inform me that it'll be under AP or so :( We've waited this for so long.. :( I know patience is a virtue.. And prayers can move mountains.. I feel you..and I wish you gudluck.. Godbless you..

For us it was a constant check with the USE once a week, I developed a relationship with the person on the phone and she'd recognized my voice everytime I called in for status. My wife and childrens passports/visa was in AP for over 60 days. When my contact in the USE told me over the phone that it has been approved it took another 2 weeks for VISA printing and one day for shipping. Goodluck to you.

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI

I just want to share what a DOS visa specialist told me last week. Her name is Sarah and I've spoken to her many times and I believe that she always gives me good information. She said "Chris, don't worry about what the DOS website says about Administrative Processing. Almost all visa applications go through it. It's just a term we use." Our visa was in AP and it was issued in two weeks from the interview. While I'm sure that some AP's are more painful than others don't fear the words.

Good Luck!

thankyou so much.. those words give me stregth and hope.. We email them last week and here's the reply..

Due to certain issues which were unresolved during the visa interview, we had to undertake further administrative processing on the case. Consular officers need to be reasonably satisfied that all identity and relationship issues have been addressed before a final determination is made regarding visa issuance.

No additional documentation is required from you or the applicant at this time. Once the review is completed, we will notify Ms. Gorp.

:(its sad that we need to undergo this kind of long process.. Im praying that it will end soon.. :( I really want to be with him :( its painful being far away from each other :(

I asked my fiancee what exactly did the the CO say and these were the words at the end- "Anyways, your case is just visa processing". Idk whatever is that suppose to mean...
