Ten years later

Firstly, those who were lost on this day must never be forgotten. Today is a day to reflect and remember.

When the shock and horror of the events of this day and date 10 years ago wore off and reality set in, I started to think about and follow the stories as to how the WTC site would be rebuilt. The only time I have ever been in New York was an airline layover in 2005 at JFK. When I was a kid, I always wanted to visit NY and the highlight of such a visit would be going to the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. After the horrific events of 10 years ago, I have been unable to bring myself to visit NY and I can not bring myself to visit NY unless the Twin Towers were rebuilt.

IMO, not rebuilding the Twin Towers like this:

is a big FAIL on the part of the decision makers.

After reading this posting: Build a second one just like it... and then looking at pictures of the completed 1 World Trade Center that is currently under construction, I started to think that if a second building just like it was constructed (and that second building would be sans the spire), then Lower Manhattan would have twin towers again, granted, it would not be the same as before (and not my first choice); however, having twin towers in Lower Manhattan again would make something feel right and I could, perhaps should, bring myself to visit NY.

I remember that morning. It was odd. 60 men started at 7.00 am on a large constuction project. Everything seemed nomal. I always worked alone with my music blasting and spraying paint which is why I worked alone. About 8.30 am my boss shut down my machine and turned off my loud music. It was quite! No sounds of nail guns, no sounds of air compressors and no one in sight except my boss looking at me. I said: Where is everybody? Then he told me. WERE AT WAR. I rushed to see my children were OK.

I disagree with that statement, the Navy Seals brought justice to the mastermind behind the attack last May.

Tell this to the children, wife family of that uncalculated attack which the American Citizens how no warnings. Tell that to the passengers who were taken hostage and knew death was intimate. Tell that to the family of this event and say we got revendge for this. No we did'nt.

It became Politics.

The United States was once known as a Superpower but we are borrowing money to even load our weapons.

The Navy Seals (my brother was) can only follow orders. Another brother, Navy Nuclear Subs and now retired as Chief but still must follow orders.

We won wars in the past and came close to losing wars. The reason we won was because we Wanted to win. Now, there are Rules by the UN but other Countries don't give a ####### about the UN.

War is War. It has everlasting effects and history will show it leads to death and leads to freedom for the survivors.

It's a delicate day for many Americans and they deserve respect for the loss and the right to question their Goverment.

Why do you need the towers to be built as they were?

I don't see that it really matters, it's not as though rebuilding them would erase what happened. Nor should it.
