AOS

Hi Everyone,

Me and my husband is really busy for the meantime right now. I am wondering after the marriage how long or the time frame we can file it. We got married August 21, 2011 and its like 2 weeks now. Can we file the AOS for another 2 months more. Because we need to save up some money too.

I hope anyone could give me an answer.

It's a good idea to file your AOS before your I-94 expires so you won't be out of status.

hi,

the above post is correct,but when your are not able to file for it soon,there is no time frame for that,but if you want to find a job,travel soon,and open bank acct.etc,u have to file for it soon as u can soon as your 1-94 card not expire for about 3 weeks u can get ssn,and file the AOS.AND AND NOT OUT OF STATUS...ANYWAYS some cases ive heard they file aos 6 months after the marrige due to financial problem and they got approval of GC.

File for AOS anytime you want if you don't mind being out of status.

From what I understand there are people who have been very late with AOS (1 or 2 years)and still filed with no problem but don't leave the country until you have you AOS completed. Jim.
