Ok I'm kinda panicking as I've booked my flight rather optimistically for November 24th... Now I see that others are being offered early to mid November interviews and our case is not yet complete, as we had some delay with documents going missing.

I was wondering if any of you had travelled to the States while your visa application was processing? I desperately want to see my husband (It's been 6 months)and have planned to go over next month with my daughter and her fiance for a couple of weeks. The three of us are travelling on the same flight with the same return dates. I'm sure I'll have an interview date by then also, so hopefully that will help.

Any advice you have would be VERY much appreciated!

So my problem was fixed mighty quickly.

AOS bill - PAID

Got my IV bill invoiced and I paid that.

Sent AOS package (will get there Wednesday).

One more package to send once the bill is paid and I'm good.

Well except that I am terrified about getting some RFEs and am now officially broke.

Can't wait until this is all over, it's making me a crazy woman.:wacko:

So glad I am not the only crazy woman in town. I feel the same. Please be over over over with a HAPPY ENDING.

NOA 1 November 15, 2010

NOA 2 August 25, 2011

Closed NVC Ocotber 11, 2011

Interview Date: January 12,2012

Thank you my wonderful God in Heaven.

It took exactly 20 hours to show the AOS fee as paid. I went in and printed off the same looking bar coded sheet that NVC sent me in an email the day they allowed me to pay the bill. Nothing is different about the bar coded sheets. They are exactly the same. Now I feel I lost a day in this by not just sending off the packet yesterday evening.

Anyhow...it is just a day....and I have many days left. But I guarentee you that when I pay the IV fee of 404.00 dollars that I will indeed send off the packet on the same day....but about 6 hours after I pay it. Cause I feel lucky!!! lol

Thank you all for your advice. I appreciate it very much.

Now once more of my silly questions..... Why don't both fees become available at the same time? Why can't we pay both on same day and send off both the same day instead of waiting?

Thank you again.

Please be kind to me. I am really a nice person who is frustrated with a system that seems archaic and I want to make it as quick as possible. I am a person who will interview in the 6 month wait for interview date at Cairo embassy...now how will I speed that process up??? I will let you all know soon.

is there any way to speed up NVC to get thte case number?? Been waiting for week now to get my case number!! Ugh...

Unfortunately, you've got a few more weeks to go. NVC has been in a backlog since this summer where instead of taking a week from NOA2 to case number, it's now been taking a month. While you're waiting, get all packages prepared and ready to go as soon as you can.

It's so weird that it shows up as paid when they haven't gotten their money. I don't get it

Did you try calling the NVC? We already sent our papers since we thought it was paid. I don't know if it's gonna cause problems or not... I don't like not knowing what's going on :)

Have your funds been withdrawn? mine still have not. The operator said that there is no problem again today.

I am with you - I am sending my package off today as well. It won't leave until tomorrow anyway.

Hope to see some changes at the Cairo Embassy.

You know this process definatly has it's high's and low's. I have been calling NVC twice a day to get the disappointing answer that 'your case is in the building, but not scanned' conversation. Today, I thought to myself...i won't call at all.

But not being able to control myself..I lifted the phone and dialed the number. Gave my uscis number..and low and behold..she asked for our names and dob....I was shocked..unprepaired totally...

When I gathered myself..i got our NVC # and invoice #, i was elated.

Sadly, the good news ended, when i heard my friend and co-sponser's (if necessary)..mother died last night.
