What's missing in your post is the reference to the Tea Party. The reasonable candidates you mention (Romney, Huntsman) are the antithesis of the TP. The radicals you mention (Perry, Bachmann, Angle, O'Donnell) are its luminaries. The fate of the GOP hangs on the balance of whether the party establishment can control the TP (Toilet Paper), or whether the TP controls it.

Cornholio for President?

Obama has been a disappointment. He had such a big build up and billed as a "savior". How do you live up to that wo/ walking on water?

He has not done himself justice. For example, with all the billions and billions thrown around in the past 2 years for TARP and such, there is no image or perception that Obama created "Pick and Shovel" jobs, like the slick roadside signs want you to believe.

He has not managed his image well, and is perceived as being out of touch with the American public, and on the golf course and on vacation too much.

Yes, he inherited a bad economy, and that is not easy to overcome. Clinton had the opposite luck.

The far left is even abandoning him, and disaster after disaster is besetting him. Tea Party is ripping him a new one. Uphill battle for reelection to say the least.

Folks are embarrassed to put his name on their bumper this time around.

Bush, while not running for election in 2008, was unpopular for a couple reason, 1) Crappy wars 2) Crappy economy.

Those two factors haven't changed much under Obama. So, I suspect that he'll have a difficult time winning the election.

While I don't believe Obama is a socialist, or a muslim, or not an American citizen, I don't think he's been an effective president.
Sure, the cards were stacked against him when he took the job, but hey...buck stops here.

And, from a personal standpoint, I could care less what states like Ohio and Michigan think/vote...they'll never change, always unionized...(where is that 'thumbs-down' emoticon?)

With just a little research about Obama would reveal his influences, both early and later in his life.

When you look at who the man surrounded himself with, it becomes easy to see him for what he is. Let us look at some of those people.

1. Frank Marshall Davis-

The man was mentored at an early age by a known (FBI has a file on this guy)card carrying member of the communist party, Frank Marshall Davis. Obama referred to Davis in his book "Dreams From My Father." It is no accident Obama ended up in Chicago after college, Davis had had lived in Chicago also.

2. William Ayers & Bernadette Dohrn

Ayers and his wife, Bernadette Dohrn. Ayers has admitted bombing the U.S. Capitol building and the Pentagon, and his wife was sent to prison for failing to cooperate in solving the robbery of a Brink's armored car in which two police were killed. Far from remorse, Ayers told The New York Times, in September 2001, that he "wished he could have done more."

3. Alice Palmer

Obama won the State Senate seat in 1996 after being hand-picked by the outgoing incumbent. Palmer was an executive board member of the US Peace Council, US affiliate of the World Peace Council, a communist front group founded by Stalin in 1948 and funded by the USSR.

4. Saul Alinsky

In Artful Dodger style, Barack Obama, plays down his mentorship with Communist author Saul Alinsky. But Alinsky’s son, L. David Alinsky, credits Obama for “learning his lesson well” from the Communist guru.

Indeed, Alinsky Jr. who credits his late father for the success of last week’s Democratic National Convention, may have done something that Obama’s detractors couldn’t: blown the cover on the presidential hopeful’s communist leanings.

There is more I could post, but in the interest of time, I decided not to. I have looked hard at the people Obama associted with, I am left asking myself; where is just 1 liberty loving, freedom embrassing, free-market capitalist? I have yet to find one.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

"Retreat hell! We just got here!"
