we finally decided to end this relationship. it was hard for both of us specially after all we've been through. even now I have the visa in my hand but we cant continue anymore :(

should I write a letter or send an email to the US embassy and ask to cancel the visa? and mention that I wont come to US

As I am the alien fiancee, is it my responsibility to write any letter , if so what should I write?

I'm planning to come to US via student visa, and becoz of that i should avoid any bad reputation. do you have any idea what should I do?

Well the petitioner should be the one to withdraw the petition and you as the beneficiary want to also notify the embassy you will not be going through with the visa. Letter or email to the consular section with your case number, DOB, petitioner name and withdrawal information should be sufficient.

Tear the visa out of your passport and send it in with a notarized letter asking them to cancel all.

I agree. The Petition is past tense. (Visa Issued) what led to this I don't know. I would question to JUST Let the Visa Expire on its own. I realize the Petitioner usualy cancels it but what if he don't? The Beneficiary indicates she would like to pursue a separate Visa (Student) so I believe not canceling the K-1 Visa maybe important later. Very Important... The OP has no Country or Timelime indicated so hard to answer.

I'm sure you know how to Cancel your Visa. Are you sure it was'nt just a silly argument.

Don't tear anything out of your Passport or Destruct it in any way. The Notary is a Excellent Idea.

Do not destroy your passport, copy it have petitioner send a letter along with your notarized letter of intention. USCIS or DEPT of 'State will review this for your student visa. Sorry good luck.

Just to Cover Basis: And this is true. What if the Petitioner does not wish to help the Beneficiary. We dont know what Country so Members can't provide Links to the appropriate Embassy. I agree that if the decision is made that the relationship is over then the Beneficiary my provide proof that she wishes to decline her Visa. Remember though, we don't know if it a K-1 or a CR-1 or whatever. The situation my differ depending on the Visa. I'm sure other members could give better advice if more detail was included.

The petitioner is not needed. While the petition was the petitioner's, the visa application was the beneficiaries. The only action the petitioner could take would be to cancel the petition if it were still active and it is not.

Sorry but I might be confused. Read the First Post by the OP. The Visa seems 100% Active and is asking how to Cancel.

OK, maybe not teat it out and return it.....but know that while it's valid, you will usually not be able to use any other visa to enter the US. If you are not planning on using the student visa until after the 6 months of the K-1 validity, then you are fine.

If you are planning to come before that visa expires, then you need to follow through with the Embassy and get it invalidated/removed/whatever they want. Contact the Embassy directly.
