So I was all excited this morning when I checked the status of my package and said that it arrived to Texas! I checked it right after lunch sure that nothing change since it was sent to a PO Box and it was not going to be out for delivery when this message came up "We attempted to deliver your item at 10:12 am on August 19, 2011 in DALLAS, TX 75222 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available"

What does that mean?? I would understand if it was sent to an actual person but it was for the USCIS and PO Box!!!

No worries. They will have someone go to the post office and pick it up.

It happened to me when I first sent off my application as well.

If you request signature on delivery no one is there to sign. They don't have someone standing at a lockbox to sign for stuff.

They leave a slip and it has to be picked up at a later date when someone goes to pick up the lockbox items.

Thank you for the useful answer! I was freaking out a bit!

I did not specify signature! just delivery confirmation... I know there's no physical person to sign it at a PO BOX!

Thanks again!

But, did you use Express Mail or Priority Mail. Express Mail requires a signature but Priority Mail doesn't. If you used express mail and paid the extra, you can add yourself to the list of examples why Priority Mail is the ticket for USCIS PO Box delivery.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
