Question about name on new GC

Hello,

My husband just got his new GC yesterday (woohoo). It's a new style and it's actually green LOL. Anyways I noticed that on the card...they have his given name "Michael D", and I'm wondering if that is supposed to have his middle name as just an initial? In all of our paperwork, we always had "Michael David"...but now it just says 'D'. I'm wondering if he screwed it up when he went to his biometrics appointment, and just wrote Michael D, instead of writing his whole middle name. My husband can be complacent when it comes to reading the fine print, and he may just have lazily wrote D instead of David. Or is everyone's new GC like that?

Since its a new version of the card I would call USCIS or your local office and ask if its ok to just have an initial or you would need to get a replacement. I think they take your name from the application not the biometrics ( but I mightt be wrong). Maybe someone else might have a better answer.

I suggest you call them and find out. Better to correct it now than later.

I got mine last June and the middle name is just a letter but my name and surname are spelled out.. example, "Doe, Jane A."

Well i've done all of the paperwork (except biometrics) and I know that I always spell out the middle name. I suppose I could call and ask, I'll try to do that when I have the time. For now, I guess it seems ok, if others have the same thing.

My two year card has only my middle initial even though I spelled it out fully on all of the documents. I assume the ten year card (whenever I get it ) will be the same.

I filled out my full middle name but USCIS still put only an H instead of HENRY like I signed. So I guess they put whatever they feel will fit on the card?
