If you are past 5 months you can request a service request ....

They are not giving a specific date so if you are past 5 months go for .... Do it now before they change their mind :0)

For the service request, are they looking at a specific date it has to be after or are they going after the 5 months mark? This was updated recently and I think there is some confusion so fi you could relate what your experience was, it would be very beneficial in clearing it up.

Well on their website it says 5 months so Im assuming its after the 5 month mark but call and see every agent always speaks differently.. Someone else said they told them their working on sept so either way I could put in a service request anyway because Im august.. I hope service requests really help though..

My husband called them awhile ago and they said we are past the normal processing time and he put a service request and gave my husband a reference number. He also said we should be getting a decision within 15 days. we're on our 228th days now.

Just submitted our service request .... When I told the agent that I want 1 because we were beyond the processing time of 5 months she said that it didn't sound right and she had to check it. She checked and apologized ...... lol... God willing we will hear something in the next 15 days ....

We got the same response from them today. Really hoping for good news soon, God-willing. :-)

The lady my husband spoke to told him they were still working on Sept.10. I was like, "#######, why would they update their website with 5 months if they were still in Sept."

Arg.. FYI, I called my congressman's office and had them do an inquiry today. The response was:

Reallllllly?? 30-45 days? Thanks a ton.. that's helpful.

Hoping in the next few days. Arg.

I did this and was basically told the same thing. Can't take this ####### and we are totally helpless. BIG SIGH!!!!!

Yeah, I, too, want to see what's going to happen with all our service requests. I feel like cobwebs are starting to appear in our August 2011 thread. haha. :-)

For all the august 2001 filers remaining.

My wife just receive an RFE in her mail box. No e-mail, no text message, no update on the website. At this point I'm no longer surprised by the USCIS's pitfalls.

They are requiring a divorce decree (wife's) that we sent already. So, we are confused.

Do you think they might want the original or a legalized copy?

Im sorry about that..(and I kinda hope I dont get one...) It would be safe and sure to give them the original or if you have a legalized copy then maybe you can send it to them too... again, just to be sure. On the other hand, is there a way for you to get another original copy just in case you might need it at the interview? :-) Hope you get a positive result soon. :-)

My wife revealed to me that we could actually get some attention from the USCIS after her congresswoman request. And the nature of the RFE we received (legal divorce decree) showed that the file had only been catching dust for 7 months. I'm so disappointed in the USCIS.

I believe you guys should seriously try to catch up with your congressmen if you haven't already.

I will keep you posted on how my RFE goes and good luck to you all.

Cheers^^

DO NOT send any originals to CSC/VSC. Original documents are to be sent in only when your case gets to NVC.
