Fun. Got the letter in the mail. They are claiming I don't make enough money. I started working in September, so my W2 says I made $8,000 for the year of 2010. I guess that makes sense. I'll get all their stuff together and mail it in ASAP.

Oh, a question though... they sent a first page with "You say you make enough but we need a letter from your employer" and all that.. which is easy enough to get. The second page says "You don't make enough, so tell us about your assets." The thing is... I DO make enough and I don't have any assets.

If I just include the letter from my work, that shows I make enough, do I need to include info about assets?

Ah, so my prediction was correct! :P

The letter is fairly boilerplate... they tell you about assets in case you cannot provide the first thing. If you get your proof of current employment then there is no need to show the assets. Good luck!

ours is insane.. we were thinking it was for the medical, which is what it seems like is typical for a lot of people, and we were right. Nut they are also asking for 2 more pages of proof! They want wedding announcements, letters from us stating our 3 favorite characteristics of each other, letters from parents and siblings, more pay stubs, the list goes on. Some of the things they are asking for would have been impossible to get in the first lace, such as his driver's license and pay stubs! We had a freak out about it on Monday but will be getting to more hours of work this weekend. We also spoke with a lawyer who said we probably got stuck with an 'anti-immigration immigration' lawyer. It's all very frustrating because now I am sending in things I sent in with the original I129f application!

Hi Matt and andrea!!! We are in the same situation as you are,or even worse since I haven't even got my EAD still.

Now, I am confused as to how can I provide them the pay stubs, checking account balances, utility bills (phone, gas, electricity etc),credit card bills in my name. Since I am still not authorized to work here, so I don't have any of these. They are also asking for my driver's license which I don't have since I can't have a license without my green card (As per DMV officials). What should we do for these ?

Secondly, they are asking for wedding announcements to my friends and relatives in India. We didn't do any announcement (in written) since they couldn't have come here anyways. What should we do for the same ?

Also, they are asking for our medical records which they should have got in the packed letter (which I handed over to POE official). I have a copy of the G-3025 medical sheet from the doctor back in my country (which I included in the file I sent for AOS). What should we do for the same ?

I know we can get a letter from her siblings as to why they were not able to attend the wedding (the reason is that it was a small affair in a court room),pay stubs from her office, her tax transcripts (again.... the 3rd time they are asking for it), photos, list of people attended our wedding etc but the point is that why are these people so unrealistic and harassing. Does the American agencies don't even believe there own citizens ? Its a sad situation :(

I request you to please help me with the above things since you have already gone through them. Thanks!!!

I wish I could give you strong advice, but we are very confused ourselves!! We are lucky enough that he got his RAD, and just a few weeks ago got a driver's license. He was able to get it without his green card, IL allows with social security card. He was also able to open a back account with his visa alone, and just updated the bank when he got his soc sec card, have you received that? What I would do, is just send them as much as you can. Explain to them in writing that you don't have any of those requests and tell them why, they can't fault you for that!

As far as the wedding announcement, we didn't do that either! We are going to have his family and friends over when we can afford a big traditional wedding. I don't see how they can decide what constitutes proof, so what if we didn't send out announcements? Send other proof of the wedding instead, like pictures, or letters from people who attending, notarized.

Ironically we are en route to his second medical! They gave us the same bs that we need to send it, saying they didn't get our forms. We also sent a copy with AOS. we tried calling but no one could give us a concrete answer as to what they actually wanted, so we're sucking up another $200 to just get it done again.

Also asking for things we've already sent like pay stubs. Its maddening. Im going to send all my proofs from the ororiginal I129 packet, because a lawyer said that may help prove our case.

I don't get why we are being harassed like this, we've done everything they've asked and more! My heart sunk when I saw the long lists of requests. Hopefully this helps! We are going to tackle the 'to do' list tomorrow!

I randomly decided to check our status on the uscis website today and there it was, RFE. I have no clue what ours could be for either! Keep me posted as to what yours was.. he got everything else just fine, AP and EAD!

We got one a couple months ago, they lost our medical or they wanted another one.

Then, a few weeks ago, we got another wanting a whole list of things. From reading these forums, it looks like they are hassling everyone.

Sent my papers out today. Sent the original RFEs, the letter from my employer, pay stubs for the last 8 months (they only asked for 6 months though), and a letter stating that since I verified my income was above the 125% poverty line.. that information about my assets was not needed.

I hope that pleases them!

This whole thread is making me afraid of getting a RFE! I sent the AOS packet at the end of July and I sure did not include many of the things members said they got RFEs for -wedding announcements? Really? My wedding was the cheapest wedding in history! Just a bunch of people eating and drinking at my best friend's house! :D
