Refer to the Guides here on VJ as well as the form instructions. They have a wealth of information.

Thanks. I´ve been going through the guides but feel like my brain is starting to warp a bit with all the information! I see in one place the I-134 mentioned as going with the I-130, but in almost all the others, I-864 is referred to. I believed that the I-864A was if you needed a joint sponsor, but then I saw that you just fill out 2 I-864s!?!?!

This is my understanding:

I-864 is for you as the primary and your co-sponsor (if needed).

I-864a is used if you are adding the income from another member of your household to meet the income requirement.

For Example:

You fill out the I-864 but because you have no US based income, a relative living in the US also submits the I-864 as the co-sponsor.

However, your relative does not make enough income but if you combine their roommate's income with the relative's income it does meet the requirement so the roommate fills out the I-864a.
