I've been reading through the appeal decisions here (very interesting) and I notice a lot of them mention "undated photos" that can't establish when the people were really together. So what counts as a dated photo? Do they have to have a timestamp put there by the camera (easy to fake)? Should there be something in the photo itself, like a newspaper, that shows the date? Or is it enough just to write the date on the back?

I know USCIS can be kinda capricious about what they RFE for, but I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with this dated photo issue.

With all of our pictures, which were taken digital, we didn't have a date stamp on it. My brother showed me exactly how easy that was to fake. What we did have was the date each photograph was taken (approx.), the location (at least city and state - or city and country), and the names (as many as we could remember) of those in the pictures.

We had pictures from local events we attended, and also had letters from friends stating that they saw us at those events in that location so the letters back up the photographs.

I did about the same - wrote the date on the back (in some cases, just the month or week) and the people in the picture and the location. I'm not really worried it will be any kind of problem, more just curious.

Thanks!

I did the same, the picture files meta-data has a time date stamp in the file data and I found a program that will put the date in the picture it self, I date stamped them, printed them using thermal photo printer, and signed them on back with location and who in picture.

NO-RFE for me.

I wrote our names, the month/year, and the number I had assigned in the petition (e.g. 'Photograph #2') on the back.

Too early to tell if it would result in an RFE, but I'm sort of doubting it.

we put always 3 pictures taken with digital cameras on one page. none of our pictures has a time stamp. I just hate that! LOL

but anyway, I titled all pictures telling when it was taken, who it shows and where it was taken.

if you have a chance to include pictures of you or your finac#(e) together with family, relatives or friends so just name those people.

so e.g. I added several pictures showing Paula Jo together with my son here in germany same as well them together in texas. same about pictures showing Paula Jo and my Mom here in germany or me with her brother and parents in KS. it always can be an advantage to have pictures showing you are already kind of included in the family of your finace'(e).
