HELLO VJ FAM.

AS SOME OF YOU MA KNOW MY INTERVIEW IS IN A COUPLE OF DAYS.

DONT WONDER WHY I WAITED TO LAST MINUTE TO DO THIS LOL.

HERE IS MY DILEMMA.

SO I KNOW I NEED THE EMPLOYER LETTER.

SO I ASKED MY BOSS TO PLEASE DO THAT FOR ME.

HE SAYS HE CANT.BECAUSE THEY DONT DO THAT ANYMORE. :help: :help: :help:

BUT IF ANYONE NEEDS MY INCOME OR EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION

EXAMPLE A FUTURE EMPLOYER, I CAN PROVIDE THE WEBSITE (WWW.THEWORKNUMBER.COM)

THEN GIVE MY EMPLOYERS ID AND MY SOCIAL.

SO MY PROBLEM IS IF THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER ASKS ME WHERE I WORK AND

IF I HAVE PROOF HOW I LOOK TELLING HER PLEASE GO TO XYZ AND HERE'S MY CODE BLAH BLAH. :bonk:

SO IF ANYONE CAN HELP IT WILL BE GLADLY APPRECIATE IT.

PS.THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORT I HAVE GOTTEN THROUGHOUT THE MONTHS OF BEING HERE.

THANKS AGAIN LARI & JHONA

I've heard of employers not providing written references, but never heard of not providing employment verification. Is your employer aware this is for the government, and he doesn't need to write anything other than facts ("X has been working here since Y date in the role of Z as a permanent employee, his salary is $0000.")? Maybe a print out from a government website would help?

If you truly cannot get anything from your employer, I'd go on that website yourself, and print out what it says there.

Hopefully, together with several paystubs, it will be enough.

As you probably already know, in the Santo Domingo Embassy many of us have been able to ace the interview without showing a single shred of evidence (not even the affidavit of support). So, I would not fret over it since it will probably not be needed at all.

Best wishes! (F)

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

employment letter or Tax returns to see you work and income is appropiate to support the marriage. has to meet the income guidelines. Mnay emplyers don't write letters anymore. for varous reasons they are afraid of lawsuits. but you have the W-2's and can get from IRS (right in the office) a cerified copy of taxes.

Dont get too comfortable. Do the 'good faith' effort in case this is the once in a million interview. You will come across better, truthful and relaxed knowing that you really did try. Get the correct information from your boss or HR. I would bring copies of: as many years of W-2 that correspond to your current job, your paystubs from January through July of this year and provide a one or two line cover sheet that states "I have been continuously employed at XYZ Company from Month of Year through to today. Please see the attached corresponding W-2s and paystubs issued by them to me as proof of aforementioned time period. You may also run an electronic employment verification at www.TheWorker.com. Use personnel number blah blah blah and code number blah blah blah to generate today's status. Thank you."

Tax returns only prove income. Not source of employment. Likely not needed, but you'll have a clear conscience and your significant other is worth it.

If you can get in touch with your HR person, write them a draft letter and email it to them. That way they can just edit the details, print on letterhead, and sign. That's what I did for my HR person, in hopes of making it easier (and thus faster)--and it worked!

Here was mine, more or less:

Date: December 1, 2010

Re: Employment verification for Kikapoo

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to confirm that Kikapoo has been employed with Company ABC since March 23, 2010. She is currently working with us as an Associate. Her annual salary is $xx,xxx.xx as of fiscal year 2010.

Please feel free to contact us if your office should require further information.

Sincerely,

(Authorized person’s signature/printed name/title)
