Hello all VJ people. How is everyone doing? Very well I hope.

Well I have a question about originals vs. copies. My I-130 has been approved, God is good, and now I am done with USCIS stage and have moved on to the NVC stage. I have read that when submitting documents with the DS-230 that documents must be originals and I also have read that when going to the interview to bring originals AS WELL AS copies. If I have already sent the originals with the DS-230 to NVC, how can my husband also bring the originals to the interview? :innocent:

Any and all guidence is appreciated. :)

Thank you so much.....

You submit originals or certified copies from the government authority in charge of maintaining the record with the DS-230.

You bring regular copies, originals, or certified copies with you to the interview. If the original was sent in with the DS-230, then the interviewer will have it at the interview.

Make sure there are copies of EVERYTHING in the package you take into the embassy. You don't want to get held up because some piece of paper is on the floor of the CO. I sent certified copies with the petition and at the interview there was one protector labeled originals bring to US and another labeled copies. Instead of a binder we used multipocketed accordian keepers and tabs and sheet protectors to keep like things grouped properly. ( other than the phone records that where about 4 inches thick)

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

I've been taking it as gospel for some time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
