Hello,

I need your help!!!

I received my IR1 visa in the mail today. I am planning to go to America in 10 days and I must buy my airline ticket. Does anyone know if I must purchase a one way ticket or round trip?

Can anyone tell me what this means: UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR 1 YEAR. It is printed on the visa.

you can buy either one your choice one way or round trip it does not make any difference.

When you land in US with CR1 visa they know you are coming to stay here on perm bases and they are not going to ask to see your return ticket.

I will go with whichever is cheaper.

To your second question once you are admitted into US and the officer completes your paper work at airport he will put another stamp in your passport.

That stamp i-551 would work as your temp green card until your actual green card comes in mail.

your i-551 would be valid for 1 year from date you entered the country.

Buy the cheapest ticket, does not matter one-way or RT. RT is usually cheaper. Schedule the return date for 3-6 months in the future. So if things don't work out (sometimes they don't), you can always go back without buying another ticket.

Yes. There are two options--she must already be here or you can eneter at the same time.
