Ok i'll try again :)

We're having my fiancee's mom cosponsoring us for the i-134 form. Since my fiancee's parents file taxes jointly, should we have them both as cosponsors or just her is ok?

We just had my father-in-law sponsor us (even though he filed taxes jointly with his wife), that was enough. If with one of their incomes you are within the limit, then it should be fine. Others may weigh in

Thanks guys! And do you think is ok if we present documents with both their names on? Like bank statements. Her mom just with her salary is above 125% of the poverty limit, but we were thinking about using assets too, just to be sure? Do you think that is a good idea? Because most of their assets, like the house, is on the name of both; having another affidavit by her father wouldn't be a problem!

If the salary meets the requirements you don't need to list assets.

Hi Hannah,

I have a similar situation- is it possible for a "co sponsor" to fill out the 134 form? Wouldn't this person be the sponsor? If my father fills out an 134 form, do I need to fill one out as well? My fiances' embassy requires the 134 form and not the 864 for the visa issue, but I am so confused as to how to go about this allowance of my father to sponsor my fiance. Please help! I have called the NVC a handful of times and have gotten different answers. I need help!

How did you do this? Did your father-in-law fill out the i 134? Also, on line 10 of the 134 form it asks if you (the sponsor) have petitioned for anyone, I have petitioned, but my father has not. Would my father put my fiances' name in that box or put none? These qs may be silly, but if you or anyone can help I would just be so appreciative. Thank you.

Please be advise that the Petitioner MUST always fill out either the 134 or 864, even when they have sponsors. The sponsor must also fill out either the 134 or 864 too.

Thank you, that helps. Could you possibly have insight to the whether or not my father would fill line 14 in with my fiances' name? Is he petitioning for my fiance, or do I fill that in by myself on my form?

Thanks! So, I can fill in q10 with my fiances' name, but my dad can put none? Would he then for q11 put that he intends to make support towards so and so and there is a space to type, can he type cosponsor of person listed in box 3?
