Hi all....

Am a US citizen, applied K1 visa for my fiance in lagos, Nigeria...

I have NOA1, VSC, waiting for approval...

Quick question? If she gets pregnant now, will it affect her visa interview, especially about the immunization, I know the chest x-ray can be done while abdomen is covered, but the immunizations is what I dont know about.

Pls I'd appreciate advice, most especially those that had a similar experience or know someone that had same issue....

HISTORY

April 27, 2011...Submitted i-129f

I just saw a post about this somewhere in the forums, it listed all that was available and unavailable for pregnant women and immunizations... I'm going to look for it now.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/314452-is-it-safe-to-get-pregnant-after-yr-immunizations/

This is about waiting period after getting immunizations then getting pregnant... I'd say it goes hand in hand with being pregnant and the effects of certain immunizations.

My suggestion would be to wait where pregnancy is concerned unless she is already pregnant. Let's face it, this visa journey is not an easy one, and I would say it would be much harder on a woman who is pregnant, emotionally, physically and in every aspect.

Why not wait until you are here in the states together to work on your bundle of joy? :star: Good luck with your decision and visa journey.

It won't affect the interview/ outcome of the visa as such, but more and more consulates require a DNA test and CRBA to be done before a K1 is issued, so it may delay things somewhat and cause extra expense. But as you only have NOA1, chances are she'd need to give birth in Nigeria if she gets pregnant soon/ is already pregnant, and that means there is an extra household member for the affidavit of support.

She can do any immunisations she has to miss in the USA, prior to AOS- of course, that will be more expensive than in Nigeria, unless you have a stellar health plan.
