Hello! I need some advise! It's been less than 20 days since i got my NOA2 and more than 20 days from Notice Date(May 27, 2011,) and still no CASE Number. Hopefuly, i will get my case number soon. However, i need some advise to the experts here, so bear with me.

Let say

After I received my case number and filed for DS-3032 via e-mail.

For I-864. I'm not sure if i should just file just by myself or should i add my father as co-sponsor. I'm earning almost 45+ per year and have 6k savings, 4k checking. We live in an 4-bedroom Apartment. 5 household, mom, dad and sister and bro-in-law. Is my annual salary and bank money enough to file just by myself or should i add my father? He's earning almost the same as mine. Thanks! By the way, my mom is only a household and I believe they are joint when he files an IRS. Any advise would really appreciated. Thanks for you help!

Unless you have more than 5 children of your own, you're supporting, your income alone is enough. You can leave all asset related questions blank too.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm only supporting my wife. We only live together and share for payment of bills and apartment. We are planning to separate with my families once she get here. We still didn't have children but planning to when she get here. We already married for year and a month and counting... I just want to make sure that my salary earning and savings/checking is enough support my wife.

Here is your Ans.

If you filed your tax individual and there is no dependent under your tax paper, then you need only max $19000 per year. It's include only you and your wife.Follow this guideline http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/media/pdf-visas/poverty-guidelines---2011.pdf

I think if you sponsor only your wife and there is no kids and no dependents then you don't need any co-sponsor. Although you live with your parents and brother and sister, you don't have to include in your household if you file tax form individual. So, basically just file I-864 and summitte only last year tax transcripts(2010). Moreover, when you summitte transcripts from IRS then you don't need to summitte w2 or 1040. Good luck

Okay, Are you really sure that even though We're 5 of us living in one Apartment I don't need to add them on my household when i file for I-864? Yes. I only file tax just by myself since she's still not here in the US. There will be no problem if my status on my IRS stated single. right? I have all my transcript and W2 and 1040 for the past 5 years. So I'm covered with that.

Hi

yes,i m sure about that cuz i did same things. I put my sister as a co-sponsor cuz i did nt have enough income. I did not show my parent dependent on me not even my sister cuz we everybody file separately. Check in form I-864 household member checklist. You should be two people you and your wife. And when you send transcript to NVC then you don't need to send w2 or 1040.

The other people living in the apartment are not your dependents. For the affidavit of support, simply ignore them. They don't count.
