I saw the other postings; yet, in some embassy sites, it does say it needs to be notarized (for example Poland). I did (and our case is in Poland). Costs noting if you get it done at your bank. Notaries have a smaller stamp that fits in the blank space at end of form. It does not matter much if it overlaps some of the text.

I guess you can always call the embassy where you will have the interview.

This is sort of similar to the DS230 (for a K-1), technically I believed not needed (which is confirmed by several postings here)....yet, a check with the embassy results in that they want it (part I only), again Poland.

Our take is to not give any excuses....We might be technically right, but they are the ones that approve/deny the visa...The worst than can happen probably is that they will get the visa pending until you provide what you want, but I really don't want to wait more than absolutely necessary.

USCIS say it does not, the Embassy site (Poland, where our case is) says it does need to, which was confirmed with a phone call. My thinking goes like this: At the time of the interview we are in front of a CO that could very well say that their Embassy requires it to be notarized, period. It would not matter that technically we are correct; bringing the USCIS printed page might only get you a 'smarta**' thinking from he/she; he/she/Embassy are the ones getting us the visa, So, why would I want to get them an excuse to delay things some extra days?? Notarizing it costs nothing (or near nothing). Best thing to do in my opinion is to check with the specific Embassy where your interview will be and then just do as they request. It will not be good to find that out the day of the interview, it will add extra days to our already looooooong wait through the vagaries of the system.
