When we had our K1 interview I brought loads of stuff just in case and they didn't ask for 1 piece of additional information. When we have our CR1 interview John won't be taking anything with him except a copy of what we've sent.

Most consulates don't seem to look at the evidence you bring, but in my opinion, it is always better to bring as much evidence as possible and copies of all the documents submitted. One of my friends just got a blue slip for documents that had been submitted twice already. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Your spare copies of what you've already sent would be a good backup plan in case they misfiled something. Evidence of your relationship? Nobody has ever had to show that in London in the 3+ years I've been keeping up with them. Read all 500+ reviews posted.

We looked a bit silly.

My other half had a huge file of everything... and for what? They only care 1) that you have the right documents (birth certificate, I-134, name change / divorce decree, etc.) and that 2) you can answer the 1 - 2 questions they might ask you.

London was a piece of cake!

All the best
