A few questions....

Hello there VJr's,

Do we really need to come up with 3 friends and have them fill up a form where they sworn our marriage is real and not a fake?

We do have a ton of papers to submit to show our financial life together:

• bank statements in both names
  
• a truck title from the DMV in both of our names
  
• car insurance
  
• benefits to spouse from my employer
  
• joint tax return
  
• general mail and postcards
  
• tons of pictures
  
• and.. An offer on a house we are looking forward to buy (our RE agent is emailing the copy of the contract we've signed last week to us) and even though we did not get it yet, we thought it still shows our best of intentions.. Isn't it?
  

Try to get to our friends is a pain in the butt.. They all live far away and it would be a mess. Plus the example form on VJ shows that has to be notarized. Too much, we both work hard and there's barely any time to put together the package. Alas it is something mandatory to do if we want to keep living together.

Any suggestion?

You have a *lot* of evidence in both of your names...more than my wife and I do. (And now I gotta go do something about that...smile.)

Notarized statements are not *required*. It's the IO's decision whether or not you have enough evidence to prove that you're really married. In your case, since your friends are so far away they'd be hard-pressed to speak to the "realness" of your marriage.

Now that you have the "quantity" of the stuff, work on the *quality*. Put the pictures in a photo album and know when and where they were taken. (For some reason, IOs seem to love to look at photo albums.) Make sure you have originals of your documents...if not, put some effort into getting the originals and having them with you when you go. Work with your beloved on what questions will be asked and how to answer them. You're at the "it's the little things that matter" stage.

If you have lots of info showing shared items, Which you do. You do not need an affidavit.

Mainly if you don't have enough solid evidence of sharing finances and such is when you need some affidavits.

Me and my wife are "packing" right now, so tomorrow after work i'll stop by the post office to mail out the package to remove the conditions.

So we're going to fall into the "june filers" section

I wouldn't worry about an interview, looking over all the month's filers list on this forum is seems very rare.
