Hai All,

I'm from Chennai, India,

I have my birth certificate computer genarated which has seal and signature of the officer computerized.

I have send this to NVC along with my DS230 form , they replied me back saying they need original with seal from issuing authority.

But when i went their ad told them about this they are saying that why he say in bottom of birth certificate to verify from so and so website and we dont have any seal to seal the certificate. When I told this NVC they are saying they need a letter from them with seal stating this but they are saying no seal.

If someone ahve solution for this please share.

I really don't know what to do.

Please some body help me!!!

Thanks.

so u have ur birth cert ... with a computer-made seal?

thats weird, i ve never heard of such a thing - but anyway, it seems to be an official document in india then so it should be accepted. so cant u just get a certified copy of it? that would mean so. copies it and puts a seal and signature on it - so the nvc would have a "real" seal and signature.

and they usually accept certified copies at the nvc.

i dont know how hard it is to obtain a certified copy... but there must be a way to do it.

thats the only thing i can think of now - since if they simply dont have a seal to stamp on the documents, u cant make them do it. but maybe there are other india filers who can help u with that better than i can.

and the problem getting the letter is ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

They dont have seal to stamp on letter or on the copy of birth certificate.

Anyways we got a notary on birth certificate and letter staying the issue.

Hi. I'm in the same boat. I'm the beneficiary applying for CR-1 visa and I'm about to mail my civil documents to NVC. I was born in Chennai, hence, I only have the computer generated birth certificate which claims to not require a signature and seal. I believe this has led to RFE's from NVC so how should I tackle this?
