Hi, our petition was approved May 25th and we still haven't received our NOA2 - hardcopy. My fiance called NVC yesterday and they said they have already sent our petition to the embassy. I was just wondering if it would be ok for me to take a printed copy of the email we got saying we were approved to the interview. Has anyone done this?

If you have new case # I think you can call to set up date but I'm No expert and others will correct me if wrong

I do have the case number - assigned at NVC. I was just asking if it'd be ok to take a copy of NOA2 to my interview - in the guide here it says you need the original :)

; You should call USCIS and tell them that you haven't received your NOA2 yet, since NOA2 comes from USCIS, not NVC

Good luck

You know to send the original... now, make sure you make at least two (2) copies for yourrself or save the email in a separate folder to make sure you dont lose it.

Hey guys, thank your for the prompt replies. I know NOA2 comes from USCIS. We have the email USCIS sent us to let us know we were approved - that's what I want to print out and take to the interview with me - if it's possible. I don't know when my interview is, but our petition should be at the embassy in a couple of days so I assume it will be soon - that's how it was for other VJ members from Romania - they had an interview soon after the embassy received their petition. And if we wait till my fiance gets the hardcopy - who knows how long that is going to take, then we add another week for the documents he is going to send me to get here. I know we have waited for 7 months already, and some might say what's another week or two. But I just want to go home to my love...

I forget about the Consulate interview process, however I do remember that you need the NOA2 for the adjustment of status process, a replacement NOA2 cost over $300. So it's better to get this resolved ASAP. Some people on here will tell you that it's possible to adjust status without the NOA2 but why wait that long to get the issue resolved... And you might not be as lucky then those that were able to adjust status without NOA2...
