I'm going to print out our Skype call history as part of our ongoing relationship proof. I was wondering if a Skype nickname would cause any issues. Like for an example I changed my fiance's nickname to "My Wife" :P even though she isn't yet. Also the extractor I'm using labels both the real user id and the nickname. Will this bring up questions?

I have read others who strongly suggest that you do not call your fiance your wife prior to actually getting married. They say that it does bring up questions. (i have not read that anyone got denied for this reason) I will be interested to see senior members reply to this post.

Is it possible you can change the nickname before printing out?

Good Luck

Umm well I guess I could change it but it is also in some of our chats as well. What I did for our Skype chats is took a screenshot of my computer screen showing the date on the bottom of the pc desktop, on Skype and showing us both on web cam. Then pasted the picture with our chats so even if I can change the nickname it is still on the screenshot but that's only one. Isn't the CENOMAR going to be enough to prove we aren't married? Also proof enough that is only a nickname?

Unless your fiancee's nickname is something embarrassing there is no need to change it. Simply attach a cover sheet to the transcripts and indicate who is who.

So having her labeled as "My Wife" is ok?

That would be untruthful if you are not married. And presenting yourself as married while petitioning for a fiance(e) visa could raise questions.

Why are multiple people suggesting that you do not refer to each other as married or husband/wife? Because doing so has tripped up folks before. Why invite potential problems?

My wife uses another woman's name for yahoo messenger, and it didn't raise any questions,at least at the USCIS stage. I think they can understand "wishful thinking" and understand that this is just what some people do.

Just use common sense , I take it you are doing this ready for approval and interview? Don't make things harder for yourself just be aware that using the word wife does ot always go down real well with USCIS. You don't need to use your Skype logs really just a few and your photos and travel info and pre wedding plans you may have already. I hear a lot about phone records and such, I never had to show anything like this at all. Maybe I was lucky

I didn't bring chat logs to my interview, just skype pictures and the call history which just shows that we would talk like 8-12 hours a day on Skype. I used the app skypelogview to print out the call history in notepad format. Just google skypelogview. Just a suggestion :)
