Any tips for losing weight? I exercise moderately 2 to 3 times a week. I eat very unhealthy food.

Just got back from an approximately 3 mile run. This is my 5th time running the route this summer and each run I improve my time slightly. I think I started at 25:30 and came in today at 24:30.

I don't drop any weight from exercising. Obviously I am not burning enough calories and my eating habits out"weigh" my workouts.

What should my LUNCH and DINNER look like?? Should I have a yogurt for lunch and a few carrots and a slice of bread for dinner? LoL.

I eat MASSIVE amounts of food. I KNOW I have a problem!!!! I know I need to cut the portions down but cannot seem to do it.

From maybe 22 to 25 (2006 to 2009) I worked out 6 days a week (roughly). I ate the same "weigh" but looked decent. Had a little stomach back then but nothing major. I was between 180 and 190.

I broke through 200 pounds for the first time ever in 2009 and haven't been back below that since. I am at about 218-222 right now. I've been about 215 for the last year. I think I peaked at 225 a few weeks ago.

:wow::help:

Basically I understand you can never workout too much. More is better. I will try to pick up my pace and do some light exercises on day offs but my real prob is food.:pop:

what helps my husband is to keep track of what he eats... he has cut back on his portion size too..

he also has cut back on his soda and fast food consumption too.. we used to eat out a lot but now we do it less then once a week..

he uses a site called Spark People to keep track of what he eats...

he has been doing this off and on for a year or two but he is really serious about it now. he used to weigh around 250 but now he is down to 215... he was down to 205 a few months back but he stopped going to the gym and keeping track of his food for a few months and put some of the weight back on...

A pound of fat = around 3600 calories. If you can cut back or burn between 100-200 extra calories a day, then you are losing 1 Lb./month instead of packing on extra wt each month. Increase this concept of burning more calories than you take in, and you can't help but not lose Wt. The essence is being mindful of what you are eating each snack and meal. I hate to count calories and don't. Just try to make every meal sensible, and as healthy as possible while still enjoying yourself, and then minimize what you consume.

If you are used to eating huge portions, then your stomach will take time to contract and feel satiated with smaller portions. A practical diet book is titled, "Eat This, Not That." How practical, he tells you how to eat on a diet at a SuperBowl party, and still have fun! Good Luck! Oh, and for exercise, just take daily walks to start with for 5 x/wk for 30 minutes. Then decide how much more and types of exercise you can commit to. Do it and add years to your life, and life to your years and increase your odds against cancer.

Amby started a cookbook a while back that may help.

Lord Infamous, how tall are you?

About 6..maybe a little under (without shoes)

Went to Subway. I usually get a foot long sub. Got a 6 inch BLT with cheese. I think it has a good 500 calories according to the napkin with nutritional info. Pretty much the same as a Whopper in terms of calories but the difference is my sub maybe had 5 to 7 grams of fat vs. 40 grams with the Whopper.

That and a bag of chips which after I ate them I noticed had 230 calories.

This would be an example of an extremely light lunch for me.

Where is the cookbook? From your link I am reading about cum in food, whale, ape, and human cum, and cum-crusted pecans.

 Amby sure is a crackup!

Good luck LI. I've been packing on a few pounds over the last few years. It's really much harder to take them off than to never put them on in the first place. I'm glad my wife likes to cook Thai - mostly rice, veggies, chicken, lean ground beef, TONS of chili peppers. That helps. But I still eat too much #######, too.

A group of recipes is commonly known as a cookbook even when not bound together so the group of recipe posts/entire topic at that link could be considered a cookbook...

The idea was for you to look at the recipes and totally lose your apetite and idealy, just the thought of it could cause one to not be hungry and as a result lose weight...

next time you order that sub at subway and they ask if ya want mayo ... hmmm. I'll pass... there are a few more calories cut...

Agreed!!! One of a kind!
