i got my noa2 last tusday and when i check the uscis for teh reciept number i found it still in initial reviw ...anyone knows about this ?

It is normal, USCIS doesn't update the case status very often at all! You should be on the look out for a letter from the National Visa Center letting you know that they've forwarded your case to the Consulate, in the next couple of weeks. Good luck!

Yes you don't get receipt numbers on the status page. Having it stuck on initial review is very common.

You call NVC and ask if they got your petition yet and if they assigned a case number.

Usually they don't from what I have seen. Faster to call them and get it directly from them.

The letter from the NVC will have the case number on it, at least it should!

I never got one from NVC and I know a few others who never got a letter from NVC. Hence my saying faster to call and get it directly from them incase this mail never arrives, instead of sitting around waiting for something that may or may not show up.
