Time Period to enter the US

My foreign husband and I applied for his visa while abroad and were told completely false information about the validity of his visa.

We were originally told that he would have 6 months from the issue of his CR-1 visa to get into the country. So we made plans accordingly. We went for his interview and were told that he only had until the validity of his medical check to enter the country. Because of this, he has to enter a full two months earlier than we had planned. Because of our job contracts, we physically cannot do that.

Is there ANY WAY to extend the validity of his visa? We planned to enter the country in the middle of December, and now he has to get there by October 7th, which is not feasible. This process was EXTREMELY expensive, and I wish they had told us the correct information, but now it's too late.

You would have to redo the medical exam over if it expires he enters the us.

You need to ask your local US embassy; some will re-issue visas (usually giving another 6 months) fairly easily, others will not.
