I need some help.

My son and I got GC 5 months ago through my actual husband USC,we don't have the permanent GC yet,is just for 2 years.Now my ex husband the father of my son,wants to apply for MEDICAID for my son,and I don't know if my son get MEDICAID through his father ,will this affect latter when we have to apply for the permanent GC. Thank you

Medicaid is a federal means-tested benefit. Most immigrants are not eligible for federal means tested benefits until they've been in the US for five years, but minor children are usually excepted. Your husband signed an affidavit of support promising the US government that you and your son would not collect means-tested benefits, and allowing the government to sue him for reimbursement if you do.

In a nutshell: Your son might qualify for medicaid. Your husband might be sued by the US government for every nickel they spend on your son's medical care.
