Good Afternoon Forum Members,

I would appreciate you advice on something.

I recently filed by I-751 to remove conditions on my Residency and to date have not received a receipt notice/1 year extension.

I filed the paper work on May 10 2011 and USCIS acknowledged receiving it on May 12 2011 (according to the website). I waited on the receipt notice/the 1 yr extension notice and it never arrived. I was/am worried in that usually it arrives in a few day after sumbitting the application. Just today (June 2 2011) I received a biometics appointment notice for June 17th but still no receipt notice/1 year extension letter. My temp/conditional Green Card expires tomorrow (June 3rd) and while I received the biometics appointment notice today and admittingly I feel alot better having received it--I still don't have the 1 year extension notice/receipt notice.

Any thoughts on what I should do? Should I schedule an InfoPass appointment? etc, etc. Your help is appreciated. I recently got laied off at my job (downsizing) and I am actively looking for a job--I expect an offer soon and without the 1 year extension I am afraid I will be in trouble with an expired GC.

Thoughts?

Thanks so much--I will update the forum on my case as I received word from USCIS.

DePrince,

Thank you so much for your advice.

Anyone else care to add anything?

I am concerned if the Biometrics notice is enought to do the InfoPass appt. Do U need to contact USCIS and request another Receipt notice? In the "Case status" lookup online it shows that the application was received at the Vermont Service Center on May 12 which should mean I should have received a notice a week or more ago.

Thoughts? Just don't want to get stuck at the USCIS InfoPass appt with not enought documentation.

The exact thing happened to me, I called USCIS and talked to a tier 2 person. He said that happens all the time, he noted that they had created the NOA1 letter but never sent it. He put in a service request for me, and I received the NOA1 in the mail within 2 weeks. You can use the reciept number on the biometrics letter when you call USCIS, and you can also use it to check your case status online.

i would call USCIS immediately and let them know that you never received your NOA, they will be able to send a new one out to you. I read in another thread on VJ, that you should press 1234 once you here the voice prompts and this will connect you straight thru to a person. (Not too sure how old that thread was but its worth a try!)
