I bet you your picture will be on one your kids' GC :yes: .

You have to file I-90 & choosing "D" on Part II Application Type (My existing card has incorrect data because of USCIS error).

Good news is you do not have to pay for application which is $450, but bad news is you have to go to Bio & wait for about 5 months to get the corrected card back.

I hate it when it ends like this after all that wait but at least you know you have been approved. If you want to travel abroad in the mean time

(thinking that your Extension Letter was expired or will be expired) you can also make INFOPASS to get I-551 stamp on your passport.

One more thing; before you send your erroneous GC to USCIS, you'd better get the front & back photocopy of it (Couple copies). They will ask you this copy at the INFOPASS appointment if you ever go.

Went to interview for ROC this morning. The man pretty much asked the same questions that was on the I-751 form (where and when we got married, where we live, date of birth etc)

He photocopied our drivers licences and i gave him my expired green card. He asked for recent bank statements, car insurance policies, tax returns. Asked us where we work, our phone number etc and how we met... And that was pretty much it. He said we were approved.

He said that i could apply for citizenship after 3 years of marriage AND 3 years from the first initial date on the GC. I said to him that a person could apply for citizenship 90 days before the date on the GC? and he said that it is better to apply pretty much by the date on the GC or they will send back the N-400 form and you will lose the $680.. So now i am not sure if it is ok to file 90 days before the date on the GC or not.. Anyone know?

So there you go.. After waiting 10 months since filing at CSC and an interview later, finally get approved. I still don't know why we had to go to an interview. Everything he asked was just questions from the I-751 form that we had already filled out the answers to on the form in the very beginning. He said i should get the GC in the mail in a few weeks..

I think you are just one of those 10% quotas where you just have to be interviewed but due to high volume they couldn't time you sooner.

Recently I've heard a news where the immigration court and USCIS office in LA will be closed during July just to catchup with the deportation cases that were dated back in 2007! Can you imagine just how slow they are?

Anyway as for me I'm just going to let them sort this out internally. Got my N-400 bio done and now it's a waiting game. Oh I'm going to call my congressman again about this BS again too.

Glad it's over for you, honestly I'm a bit jealous lol.

I bet you your picture will be on one your kids' GC :yes: .

You have to file I-90 & choosing "D" on Part II Application Type (My existing card has incorrect data because of USCIS error).

Good news is you do not have to pay for application which is $450, but bad news is you have to go to Bio & wait for about 5 months to get the corrected card back.

I hate it when it ends like this after all that wait but at least you know you have been approved. If you want to travel abroad in the mean time

(thinking that your Extension Letter was expired or will be expired) you can also make INFOPASS to get I-551 stamp on your passport.

One more thing; before you send your erroneous GC to USCIS, you'd better get the front & back photocopy of it (Couple copies). They will ask you this copy at the INFOPASS appointment if you ever go.

Thank you for the advise. I received the kids gc, the photo on each were correct except for the fact that they re-used the older photos, the same ones from their 2 year conditional GC instead of using the photos they tool during our most recent biometrics. My GC contained the newer pic of my daughter.

Had infopass appointment yesterday, the lady officer at our local office was very helpful. She tried asking the supervisor at Vermont office if they could rectify their errors but alas, they could not until I send in form I-90. I will have to use the card to try to renew my driver's license first before I send it back since I am afraid, it would really take 5mos before I receive my correct card.

Am so glad you got approved now. I remember you way back when I first joined VJ, when I was trying to get my wife here from the Philippines. Congratulations to the both of you

Went to interview for ROC this morning. The man pretty much asked the same questions that was on the I-751 form (where and when we got married, where we live, date of birth etc)

He photocopied our drivers licences and i gave him my expired green card. He asked for recent bank statements, car insurance policies, tax returns. Asked us where we work, our phone number etc and how we met... And that was pretty much it. He said we were approved.

He said that i could apply for citizenship after 3 years of marriage AND 3 years from the first initial date on the GC. I said to him that a person could apply for citizenship 90 days before the date on the GC? and he said that it is better to apply pretty much by the date on the GC or they will send back the N-400 form and you will lose the $680.. So now i am not sure if it is ok to file 90 days before the date on the GC or not.. Anyone know?

So there you go.. After waiting 10 months since filing at CSC and an interview later, finally get approved. I still don't know why we had to go to an interview. Everything he asked was just questions from the I-751 form that we had already filled out the answers to on the form in the very beginning. He said i should get the GC in the mail in a few weeks..

I am afraid that your IO who has interviewed you does not know or he hasn't read " The instructions part of N-400 Application ".

When he said it at the interview, i thought 'hmm, this does not sound right" but just wanted to make sure you could apply up to 90 days before the date on the GC.. So it seems that some of their employees don't know the correct procedures and rules to the petitions :no:

Finally some news. After hiring an attorney and responding to the RFE he received in the mail today.......ta dah.....you have been approved and will receive your new green card within 60 days.

Yes, just in time to file for citizenship.

Hopefully the filing of my N-400 and the pressure from the congressman can push them forward, as this is getting ridiculous.

I hope this will get some results. It is definitely ridiculous that it is taking this long - especially for CSC as they are generally faster at processing applications for ROC than VSC. You have done everything that you can possibly do (service requests, filed N400 to try and move it along etc), it is just so frustrating!! :ranting:

I really hope you will hear something very very soon! Please keep us updated!
